He's the scapegoat. He's not a playmaker and never has been. If you don't create chances for him, he doesn't stick it in the net. Creatively they've been poor since the first game.
It isn't his fault. This team isn't used to receiving a pass because Neymar doesn't pass. If the ball goes to him he either tries to do it himself or the move ends in a foul or a dive or on rare occasions (seeing as he receives the ball 1000 times a game) a goal. Can't build a side around 1 talented player that doesn't pass. Same with Portugal.
Absolutely, but should I not support England because of them? It's embarrassing for sure. I find casual racism embarrassing. I don't hate them or the 'Argies'. I don't sing "you'll never get a job" at Liverpool, and I don't sing "let him die". Even at south coast derbies. Saints and Pompey fans have done their fair share of violence but we still support our teams. But they are out teams, not going to change that. In this case I'd be adopting a team and didn't want to choose them (I chose Chile FWIW). And yes, it's harder to like them cos of past teams. See Hoddle's comments after the QF.
