I'm off down the pub in a couple of hours to watch the gold cup final between USA and Mexico. Should be a pretty good game both teams play with passion and have a very good standard of footballers.
Maybe not quite as good as the top european and south american nations but still pretty much all prem quality type players.
Is it on telly over in the uk? The pub is selling beer during the game at half price which is always a big bonus :)

I'll do a little scouting and see if Mexico have a good midfielder that city might be able to use.

I'll be watching at work Firty. I fancy Mexico to win 3-0 but I'm hoping otherwise. Enjoy the cold ones.

I think our Jozy has a hamstring problem so he wont be playing. Should be a good night, the few "soccer" fans we have round here really get into the games and it's always fun.
It's in LA so thats almost like a home game for Mexico, 90,000 in the Rose Bowl that place will be rocking tonight!

It will be fun indeed! Shame for Jozy, I know he gets a lot of **** for not scoring but he attracts a lot of defense and he actually looked decent in the tourney. Regardless, I think Mexico will out pass us by 100 tonight and whip us pretty good. Our defense has not been great! It's been nice to see a few Americans care about a "soccer" game other than the world cup!

I'm a genuine product of the USA. Support originates from a childhood tour of England that featured tremendously friendly folks in Hull and kids that made fun of my accent in Leeds.

I think plastic was always a football fan and saw Deano's goal at wembley on the telly and was hooked.
That Windass wembley winner put a couple of thousand new young bums on seats at the KC that will always be fans now and gained us a fair few fans around the world too.
May 24th should be a holiday in Hull it changed the image of our football club forever.

Pretty good game, it's 2-2 at half time. Landon Donovan is playing well and Clint Dempsey also Freddie Adu looks lively but a little light weight.
Fella called Xavier Hernandez playing for Mexico is quick as lightning beating the offside trap easily. All the mexican players have good pace to be honest no big men just fast little buggers.
It's a very entertaining game I think Mexico will win it the have more flair and pace but USA are probably more organised.
Classic matchup really between individual talent and a well structured team.

More later from your reporter in America :)

Do you really not know who Hernandez is? The guy who spent much of this season keeping the Premier League's top scorer out of the Man United side, scoring for fun? No?

There was also an under 17's game against Uruguay played in Mexico last night. Doesn't seemed to had much mention on here or on TV. Probably because they won and got to the last 16.Plenty of mention of spain winning the under 21's in Europe and how we had been knocked out.
Maybe the under 17's should start losing if they want a bit of publicity back home.

I think winning the european under 21 championship has a bit more credit than progressing to the last 16 in the under 17's :emoticon-0103-cool:
