    Well 5 years ago today, Markus Liebherr saved Southampton football club.

    There's a reason to be cheerful.

    You are closer to death than you have ever been, so you won't have it to put up with this for that much longer

    Just thought of another one - now after every Match of the Day we can go on Twitter and say "bloody Pochettino, he's been here 2 years and can't even speak English yet......#lazy #disrespectful"

    Laura's staying grumpy for now. More outgoings to come and waiting for more incomings.

    Is there a sad Kenny Monkou? Actually, I don't even know how to change my avatar and I'm quite happy today.

    Reasons to be cheerful......

    We only got 2 mentions in the transfer gossip page today, which is a record since close season, & one of them was this;

    Southampton fan Karl Hopkins has set up a Facebook page apologising to referee Mark Clattenburg for the criticism the official received for his comments towards then-Saints midfielder Adam Lallana last season. Clattenburg allegedly told Lallana "you have changed since you've played for England" and, following Lallana's departure to Liverpool, Hopkins has said sorry for the abuse that was directed at the referee.

    Feels like we've turned a corner. Amen.

    On Monday, I'm flying to Newcastle from Southampton. My first local flight...am looking forward to it. Cuts six hours off the train journey. Never been to the land of the Toon...even though that is where my mother's family come from.

    Newcastle can be a fun city. The stadium is right in the city too and the coke bottle building looks cool. The Metro Centre isn't much, it's just full of loads and loads of shops :) You may need a translator though :)

    You an visit the Angel of the North, but we saw him score a hat-trick on his debut anyway!

    Enjoy. Durham is quaint. Feels like you're on an island almost.

    Taking the international perspective for a moment, England, whilst clearly a backwards nation in football terms, have never been gaped 7/1 in front of their own supporters.
