Wow! http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/former_...fter_being_clocked_at_140mph_on_a11_1_3670756 Crazy, his excuse was that he "just wanted to get home"! What a numb nut. Can anyone else top 140mph?
How times have changed - 3rd choice keeper drives a car like that. In the late 60's I got quite friendly with Charlie Crickmore who was, at the time, our first choice left winger. He drove a secondhand Vauxhall Viva!! Charlie couldn't cope with Ron Saunders fitness regime and quickly moved on.
Charlie was terrific - we signed him from Notts county I think. Remember him scoring against the Binners in a 3-4 home loss. I think he scored the second goal to put us 2-0 up but we eventually lost 3-4 with Colin Viljoen, who was also a terrific player, scoring a hat-trick for them. He was a bit like Snoddy, slow but with great feet. Didn't hold up his arm when he took corners though !
Now that I think about it, that's probably what I'll miss most about SNoddy. After the minor bust up last year the was almost a sense of "We're both unhappy, lets not take it out on each other" between the fans and Snods. Pretty sure it was after that the whole waving back at him during corners thing started happening.
Although an idiot, i'm impressed anyone can get up to 140 on the A11. The last time I went through Elveden my average speed was more like 14.
Depends when it was really. On an empty road in daylight it's not especially dangerous.I had an indicated 150 on the dial once. Then put it into neutral and coasted two miles!
