Still shaking my head in disbelief Tobes!

Bet an awful lot of copies will end up in charity shops. Left in a bag overnight in the shop doorway to avoid being recognised. A rumour is going the circuit of the follow up

Fortunately no publisher has deemed it fit to print, so it's only available as a kindle download.

But even at that you'd fell like wrapping the thing in brown paper just in case someone caught a glimpse <laugh>

LOL, takes me back to a holiday in Newquay back in the 60's. Lady Chatterly's lover had gone in print. So many blokes around the pool reading a book with a brown paper cover. As if no one knew what they were reading.

A book about failing to win something?

This is the best thing I've seen all week ;)

And that's just last year. The guy is going to be very busy writing the other 23 volumes since the premiership was founded.

    <laugh> <ok>

But then the RS have never been that close. So close in fact that they have already celebrated the win (guard of honour before matches, open top buses, routes, reception at the town hall) by the time they realised they had given it away to City. The most fun I've had for a long time. No one less than their legends Lawro and Hansen said that it would be an absolute disaster if they lost the title at that point. <laugh>

On a serious note, it might hold some weight if it had been so called "lesser" clubs, like Villa and Newcastle.

Did we hear those fans harping on about it?
Did anyone else write a book on it?
United were runners up 4 times, did any of the fans write a book on it?

I think you will find that in 99.99 per cent of times, in all different leagues throughout Europe not one other club has had a book written on what after all, is failure

Well, at least Liverpool were the first to do it, and I wouldn't mind betting that will certainly be the last.
If Shankley was still the manager, you could bet your life he would have wrung the author's neck, and he would have been more than justified.

Liverpool are a lesser club, 25 years with no title = lesser club

sorry HRH, I stand corrected. It's a shame this isn't on the Chelsea, Man City, Everton and Arsenal boards, I am sure their fans would love to see how passionate the Liverpool writer is.

Maybe Tobes could enlighten the others to this masterpiece of literature

The book written on the Jamaican Bobsled team- not only was a bestseller... it spawned two movies and a reggae hit.

    They didn't even finish second.

I think the quote "Football, bloody hell" was Sir Alex's quote, not shanks

Bit of a faux pas there lovegonzo, To rub salt in the wound, it was a quote just after United won the champions league in 1999, and thus becoming the ONLY british club to win the treble

That has gone right over your head. :D

I think the fact that I was laughing at it confused you.
