I know Beefy has some inside knowledge, but if you missed it quite a few pages back I posted a link to an interview he did with the same Croatian news site prior to moving to Southampton which revealed interest from Liverpool and him kicking up a stink and wanting to leave Lyon

I believe Liverpool were interested last season, but thought we had paid too much for him. Excuse me while I pick up my head that I have just laughed off. :)

Lovren had a pretty good reason to make a fuss at Lyon, to be honest. His situation was quite different from his situation here, in that he was getting blamed for poor performances and fans hated him. He was the target of a lot of jokes online, similar to the sort of stick Tom Cleverley gets. I'd have wanted out too.

Also if Lovren wants to be at a club that keeps all of their key players i wouldnt say that selling Suarez was particularly ambitious...

They probably held onto him for a year longer than our board would have in the same situation. Good riddance anyway, he's a knob.

I keep seeing people saying this.

One of the greatest speeches in literature uses it:

If you wrong us, shall we not revenge?

And it is in the dictionary:

    http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/british/revenge_2

Also, she is quoting Einstein - so let's not credit her with any creative impulse.

Except it ain't, is it? According to our source, Lyon fans blamed him for poor performances. Saints fans tended to blame poor performances on his absences and Maya or Jos came in for the stick. Fans hated him? Not at SFC they didn't. We liked how he played; we liked the fact that he always acknowledged the fans; we liked his apparent enthusiasm and drive. We have all become just a tad naffed off with his current attitude. I actually have some sympathy for his "the project has changed" line. I'd have been even more so if he suggested that he'd listened to the plan for the next five years and had decided it wasn't for him. I have no problem with a player seeking to increase his earning, or getting themselves into a club more likely to win trophies. Good luck to them; it's a short career.

But, Dejan, there are two English words you need to learn. Dignity and professionalism. If you want a role model look at Rickie or even Luke Shaw who stayed silent and let others do the talking.

Dejan was probably confused by our love and knew he had to do something to restore the status quo. I think the fans' anger about his behaviour is exacerbated by the fact that we thought we had a relationship with him...we responded to his enthusiasm and apparent liking for us, but it was built on sand. Giving us a single season is an insult.

Yeah - agree with that. He was always the one that looked so committed, but it was all a bit of a falsehood. Rather sad really.

Well he was committed, but he was committed to himself, not to the team. He aspires to personal success, which just incidentally correlates with team success. I don't blame him for chasing personal success and I don't consider the fact that he only gave us one season an insult. In fact I thank him for that season. The insult has come in the way he has conducted himself this summer.
