I went Lib Dem myself..................I'M SORRY!!!

i voted labour.
then awoke to the great possibility of a tory government. everything seemed too blue that day. the sky annoyed me.

 

Interpol Turn on the Bright Lights is one of my favourite albums. Shame they haven't built on it (imo anyway!).

I'm not allowed to vote in your elections as we have out own government over here. Don't have party politics either. You vote for individuals.

 

Due to living in Northern Ireland I didn't get around to registering for postal vote...I think I'd have voted Labour, Bishop Auckland is labour to the max so it didn't make much of a difference anyway...

I'm not particularly convinced by Red Ed like - think his brother would've been the far better candidate!

 

I would have gone for Liberal Democrat if I could. Breifly looked at a few manifestos and theirs made a lot of sense; shame their leader seems to have turned into a spineless moron with no respect for the people who voted for him.

 

Clegg lost me when they had those live debates. He seemed to just be sucking up to whoever he could at the time. It was embarrassing for him at points in my opinion.

 

Nah, me neither....I can see us having a full Tory government next term....dont think Red Ed will put up much of a fight.

Got no hope for Labour at the minute to be honest! I reckon Ed's the better man for the job as a person, but David's probably better suited at running a party (possibly country in the future, god knows). No looking good. We'll be stuck with Cameron until the public get fed up of him and vote for labour for 'change'

I considered Lib Dem, but for me, as much as their manifesto made 'sense' in some areas, the key aspects of his mandate didn't seem to add up logistically for me! Completely abolishing University Fees is entirely idiotic in my opinion!

In no way do I support the idea that further education should be a privilege of the elite...At the same time, no bin-man, dinner lady or care worker should have to pay towards some greasy mong to go to East-****knows Tech to study a bullshit course, 'cause they got 8 UCAS points with their happy meal and they can't think of anything else to do!

Cant stand Cameron one bit. Was disappointed when Labour appointed Ed instead of the brother. Means we're stuck under Cameron for a while I think.

 

I voted for Lib dem based on their policies. I even met with and spoke to Greg Mulholland (my local Lib dem MP at the time) and he convinced me to vote for him/them as he seemed a decent enough bloke - for a politician anyway.
He was one of the Clegg supporters in the end for the coalition and believe me he received a fair few nasty emails from loads of people I know, doubt he'll get re-elected but he could con the next lot of students who live in that area I suppose.
I've now moved to a labour area of Leeds with a certain Rachel Reeves who is a young up and coming labour MP. To be fair to her, she has replied (or at least her aides have) to all of the emails I've sent including the standard 38 degrees ones, so she seems polite enough but I still wouldn't trust a politician as far as I could throw them, especially not now!

 

The political situation in the UK seems miserable as hell really; three nobodys leading three parties that haven't done much good for decades on end. Needs a serious shake up of the whole system; viva la revolution etc. The idea of the House of Lords has always seemed barmy to me.

Some of their policies made sense though - such as decriminalising drugs since prohibition is failing (and costing ****loads) and tax the **** out of them to raise money for the likes of the NHS, the said druggies are already costing the NHS money so why not make it so it's their money providing the care & help they need?

 

It got something along the lines of 40% yes (60% no) and was referred to as a 'resounding defeat'.

Tories get 40% in the 2010 election and get 4 years in office.

Peculiar system.
