Yep. And the Anfield Road was as quiet as the grave. We outsang them. The Kop, as usual, were flicking through their appointments on their i-phones. This is complete bollocks. As any Anfield watcher knows, YNWA is only ever sung well if it's a European night (when the Norwegian/Swiss/Dutch ... Reds are in town) or it's a big league game - like Man City.

FFS, this is the most pathetic thing the little creep has said yet.

 

I'm a bit concerned that our first game is at Anfield. The mesmeric effect of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' will captivate our whole team and make them dream of playing for Liverpool right from the beginning of the season. We should consider ear plugs.

 

He wouldn't of cared what Cortese did. He never really wanted to be here and used us as a stepping stone.

He never wanted to come here, Liverpool didn't put up the money his last club wanted. With that in mind you would think Liverpool would be the last place he would go. They didn't think he was worth it, we did.

Its like fittest girl not wanting you and then after a few gym sesssions changes her mind and is now begging but you know she will always think she is better. Why would you go for that and throw away the tidy but not stunning girl you have? The guy is just out for a status **** and will disappear just as quickly as he came. Pun intended.

I think players probably judge by how much the club will pay them, not how much they pay their ex-club. Liverpool would almost assuredly pay Lovren much more than he is making at Saints now, and probably would have paid him more last season had they gotten him.

That did seem to kind of be Cortese's MO. He was willing to make the highest offers to clubs so they'd give us a hand by rejecting other overtures and also steer the players towards us which in turn meant that we could save on wages, having eliminated our competitors. Downside of course, is that those players would be more likely to want to leave having gotten here.

 

That's interesting. I'll wait patiently for when you can tell us more.

Oh excellent news, I'll go and warm up my car to take Dani to Italy or Turkey then. It will be a pleasure to get him out

 

I'll bring you some homemade chicken soup and a few meters of bubble wrap to cover him in to make sure he doesn't get injured or further aggravates his rather serious ailment along the way.
