Absolutely... I don't watch Welsh international games very often (or international games in general- they're almost always on when I'm at work)- I had no clue they put the flag of their opposition on their shirt... seems an odd thing to do to me. Figured it couldn't be the Belgium flag and had to be something that looked like one.
I never even noticed that either! - I'm going to have to look closer for that in the future. There again I have a crappy smallish TV, so probably wouldn't pick up on it unless they had the opponents crest really large on their shirts! We don't do that do we? I'd hate if there were Liverpool shirts with Chelsea's crest on them from the Champions League games... would defile the shirt!
No, they normally have the fixture and date though like Liverpool v Chelsea 07.07.2014 For example.. You can't see that well, but in the middle of the shirt is the liverbird with the AC Milan fixture and date from the CL final. please log in to view this image
Yes this. Only countries put the flag on. I suppose clubs' fans wouldn't be happy with the oppositions badge
That's probably why I've never noticed before then... Unless they zoomed in really close on it on TV (or it was in huge letters), I'd never be able to read something like that on a shirt on my TV.
I wouldn't want an England shirt with a Scottish flag on it either for that matter. No problem with Scotland- but that would just be wrong!
Curious if Liverpool will have AC Milan written on for the friendly in a few weeks... I'll have to check when I'm there. If it's for raising money- it should be on the shirts they're selling at the stadium too.
Doubt it for the friendlies. They don't even normally have names on their backs for those games? Guess if it's a publicity tour match though might be different.
Looks like Lucas may be on his way....this is from This is Anfield..... Lucas Leiva being linked with a loan move to Napoli, has removed reference of Liverpool from his twitter profile. Bit harsh of him!
That is harsh, thought he was a die hard Red. Maybe frustrated that he knows he's not in Rodgers long term plans - still harsh though.
Also, I see the Suarez talks have stalled over payment structuring, as we, quite rightly due to Barca's renowned financial dodgyness, want the majority of the £75m upfront. And it seems we won't get Sanchez, as it does turn out he'd rather go to Arsenal, which is a shame.
Barca need to stop ****ing around and just give us the £75mil upfront. I don't like all these staggered payment plans. Either buy the player or **** off It's a shame about Sanchez - But it'll be nice to have him in the PL. Only downside is it'll strengthen Arsenal. The price that's being spouted also seems like a bargain. For me he's one of the best players around.
Barca are waiting for a sponsorship deal to be finalised. In the interim, they have to arrange a couple of short-term loans from Spanish banks, which is why they are struggling with the major up-front payment.
