SC reported the other week he was kept on as he made a great impression with young players or potential young players moving to the club. He must be good to have around the club. Although I'm not sure on his coaching ability!
We no longer have a striking coach, the players are made to wear strobe glasses and shoot into an empty net
Holtby was brilliant in the UEFA cup games. Six assists in four games, something like that? Paulinho was good at the end of the year (arguably the only time we had a decent attacking plan.) Townsend was excellent for about three games. Soldado scored all his pens. And with any luck Chadli has destroyed Hazard's confidence by subbing for him in Belgium's last game.
Lamela may be able to clear up where that Malaysian Airlines jet is. Presumably he was on it, and that was why he was gone for so long. I'm at a loss for Obika.
Thomas Ince signs for Hull. Ince is a player we were interested in for a very long time and we were hopeful of doing a deal at one point, but his indifferent form in the second half of last season, put us off.
He's a talented player, but he's probably picked the best move for him. Joined a decent team who'll put him in their first XI and he's on a short deal.
Tony Pulis was keen to sign him for Palace (permanently). Predicting he would be a top player. I won't disagree with his prediction.
I was just thinking Ade thrived in the 4-4-2 with Harry and Sherwood, and struggled and disappeared in Villa-Boas' 4-2-3-1. It makes sense even though he holds the ball up well, since he both looks to pass more than shoot, and likes to roam around the field. So I'm thinking it may be a reason Poch either changes systems (less likely) or tries to get a different striker (more likely).
The Cambiasso deal is supposedly off. Maybe Poch sees Sandro and Capoue good enough for the DM role without anymore added competition/ isn't selling one of them now.
Was it ever on? Or are we going to be linked to every Argentina player thanks to TWITter and forums with people "ITK".
I initially wondered that, few media outlets reckoned it was a goer, didn't see an "ITK" mention anything about him to be fair. Personally wouldn't have minded bringing him in, he's a winner and his experience would be of value to everyone in the squad, young and old. Could've been someone to help Lamela settle easier too, it's nice for the lad having an Argie manager now but I think having an Argie player would've really helped him, not that I'm suggesting we should sign two compatriots just to keep people happy but in hindsight, maybe having someone to easily talk too would've been good for someone of Lamela's age.
I hope that wasn't the main reason for bring in Pochettino (or one of them). Cambiasso was a brilliant player but we saw him on the decline at the lane. To walk into the premier league at his age when he is already ready for retirement would be a strange signing and the only reason he was linked, was because he is from Argentina. Although the press are just giving fans what they want, gossip.
