Didn't we sign aluko initially on the same basis? This suits us just in case he turn out to be another Cameron Stewart.
It would probably be a piss poor amount (Blackpool perspective) loaded with add ons and maybe a sell on fee which you probably won't be getting a big one because of how weak the contract is in terms of years Still its a good signing either way and I think his dad knowing Steve Bruce probably pulled the deal
No. This has to do with the age of Ince. Aluko had to do with Rangers going under and becoming a new company.
Years ago we signed Gareth Williams from Forest. We offered 1M which they rejected and demanded 5M, A tribunal decided we had to pay 500K
Just looked through the FL rules for how compensation is determined: 65.1 In determining the Compensation Fee under Regulation 64.5 the Professional Football Compensation Committee shall take into account the costs set out in Regulations 65.2 and 65.3 and any of the criteria set out in Regulation 65.4. 65.2 Any cost incurred by either Club in operating an Academy including (without limitation) the cost of providing for students: 65.2.1 living accommodation; 65.2.2 training and playing facilities; 65.2.3 scouting, coaching, administrative and other staff; 65.2.4 education and welfare requirements; 65.2.5 playing and training strip and other clothing; 65.2.6 medical and first aid facilities; and 65.2.7 friendly and competitive matches and overseas tours. 65.3 Any other costs incurred by the Transferor Club directly attributable to the training and development of Players including any Transfer Fee or Compensation Fee referred to in Regulation 65.4.3. 65.4 The criteria are: 65.4.1 the status of the two Clubs involved; 65.4.2 the age of the Player; 65.4.3 the amount of any Transfer Fee or Compensation Fee paid by the Transferor Club upon acquiring the registration of the Player; 65.4.4 the length of time during which the Transferor Club held the registration of the Player; 65.4.5 the terms of the new contract offered to the Player by both Clubs; 65.4.6 the Player's playing record in Club and international team appearances; and 65.4.7 substantiated interest shown by other Clubs in acquiring the services of the Player. If Blackpool want £8m they'll be left shortchanged, I can't see that lot amounting to much more than 2/300k depending on how much he cost them originally, which I don't have a clue how much that was. Also as an aside issue, the FA take a 5% cut of every transfer/compensation fee, which I never knew.
So he was out of contract? Must be paying him a lot, wasn't long since Liverpool and Monaco wanted him. Genuine question, are any of you getting worried about the amount you're spending? You're spending serious amounts so don't give me any of that "this is what you have to do" ****.
Less worrying for me since I really dont see any chance of relegation this year. The biggest threat to us at this point with our debt is relegation. Your spending would worry me far more.
One advantage for Hull with the 2 year deal is after a disappointing time with Palace Ince has a point to prove in the perm. Dangers of long terms deals are people like Scott Sinclair just rest on their laurels and get lost in the football scrapheap Ince can't afford that else he will be back in the Championship in 2 years having wasted much of his potential ability and future earnings
What's weird is that he turned down Inter Milan for us. You think it's because he'll get more game time gee or a different reason
If Hull don't have a relatively big squad they might struggle in the first half of the season with the Europa Cup.
Allegedly, the whole Inter Milan thing was more of a PR stunt for both parties, they weren't all that interested in Ince and probably only offered him small terms as a squad player. Bum chins was saying something about it before he committed suicide when Italy got KO'd the World Cup.
You think we should be spending more? I must admit, I am starting to worry that we're missing out on a few targets.
The Snodgrass and Ince signings are exactly what we needed in footballing terms. More important than another striker IMO. I think it's ridiculous we have to pay anything though. He's a free agent. He's no more a Blackpool player than any other club. How can they get a fee for him?
He is under 24 which they are entitled to a fee for "developing the player" I would imagine a decent chunk of that fee will then get sent on to Liverpool
