Yep agree with that, remy has had his fair share of injuries, 4 good strikers & BZ for back up if he stays.
You drop Austin then, if you compare them both as CF's then it's not a contest. Remy's a different class.
We wold likely play a 4-4-1-1, with Remy playing behind Austin. Having a solid midfield 2, with creative, quick wide men, defenders that know how to defend, and Remy and Charlie interchanging and mixing it up at the front - sounds good to me. Green / Cesar Simpson Onouha Caulker Yun Phillips Faurlin Barton Hoilett Remy Austin
Wow, I am drooling over the keyboard as I write this about the prospect of Remy and Austin playing together up front for us.
I'd try Remy as a false 9 in the pre-season, dropping back into midfield when we lose possession. He's got the pace to get back into position when we win the ball back. If that doesn't work, then he'd be a much bigger asset on the left wing than Hoilett or Traore.
Most of them are still in contract negotiations - the wage demands would go through the roof if he shared the praise.
We now just need a PL-class creative midfielder, a PL-class defensive midfielder, Caulker .. a season relatively injury free and the world is looking rosier EDIT: Glad I got my season today!
Remy is not a lone striker, that's the problem. Play 442 and get hammered, play 4231 in a role he can't do up front on his own or play him wide in a 4231 with the ice man or Austin up front.
Then, when we still haven't scored after 75 minutes, bring on Bobby Zamora to slot home 2 in the last 15 minutes. Simples.
I can't see Remy staying. Tony's probably just trying to drive up his price a bit? Arsenal/spurs are probably quibbling over price, and he's letting them know we're fully prepared to keep remy if we don't get the right offer.
I think he'd be perfectly capable of playing in the centre of a 4-3-3 He did so at Newcastle with Gouffran and Ben Arfa either side of him and he put the ball in the net Why are you convinced we'll get hammered playing 4-4-2? Especially at home. There's still a fair share of crap teams in the Prem.
Have to say I like the look of that side....allows us to play in all sorts of formations....4411 or 451 when defending then 433 going forward.....if this is true about Remy it's just like a new signing.....exciting times ahead?
Trouble is we haven't play 433 once under Redknapp so that may not be too likely. Most teams will have a better midfield than us, add in another man and they will take total control of the game.
I tend to agree with this. Can't see Arsene paying too much attention to social media though. I'll be pleasantly surprised and absolutely delighted if Remy is up top with Charlie at the start of the season!
