Hi Eddie, I'm okay and looking forward to reading your new book - perhaps a bit late for a summer beach read though - your last one I bought off Amazon.ca

Since tropical storm Arthur hit Atlantic Canada early last Sat we have had no power since early Sat so home is like a glorified camping trip, only you sleep in your own bed - refrigerator & freezer contents are now spoiled.

Cold showers are also rather bracing! We have an outdoor propane BBQ with a side burner so can cook on that at least. No ice to be found in town - back to hunter gatherer mentality.

So I have missed the recent WC matches, including Brazil's annihilation and the F1 British GP at Silverstone - really looking forward to the R's foray back into the upper echelon - hopefully we can make it stick this time around.

Hi Kilburn, sorry to hear of your plight mate. Must be very frustrating having all that grief going on? Can't imagine what it would be like without all of today's mod cons! Thank god for the BBQ hey mate. I hope you and the family are bearing up to all the stress, or is it a bit of fun as well? I used to love camping when I was a kid, don't know if I could Handel it now at my age lol. I watched Germany cane Brazil, I laughed to myself, now that's Karma mate! Anyway 'me ole china' you take care.

Hi Eddie - I see that book listed on Amazon.ca but it is shown as published in 2008 - is this possibly the paperback edition?

Detective Frank Stone worked for the Metropolitan police departments Specialist Crime Directorate after being promoted from the Flying Squad; this is the story about one of the Mets finest criminal hunters, who without doubt was a born natural at tracking down major villains and their henchmen. Frank has solved more crimes single-handed than any other officer on the force; His instinct and gut feelings would normally pay huge dividends and would uncover what most Detectives regarded as lost causes… when millionaire property tycoon Howard Mears-Bullen arrives at his office seeking help to find his missing Daughter Sarah, Frank initially declines. However, after Howard informs him that the Mets Police Commissionaire (who being a close friend of his) had assured him of his help, Frank agreed… During his investigations, he uncovers a ten-year old triple murder in the sleepy village of Upper-Slaughter. However, Sarah's disappearance remained a mystery… during his time on the force Frank has come up against the notorious Harry Carr who's misguided actions bring chaos and fear to the streets of London, in the form of 'Yardies' seeking retribution! Resulting in a tense stakeout and a violent blood bath on the banks of the river Thames… barely catching his breath, Frank returns back to Gloucestershire to investigate a double murder. During his enquires Frank uncovers the macabre world of Satanism, which leads him directly to Lucifer's door! Being a self-confessed atheist, he is forced to open his mind to all sorts of supernatural possibilities… has the brazen Detective bitten off more that he can chew…? Moreover, is it possible that Frank could come out of this alive?

Hi Kilburn, it was published in Canada in 2008 by Trafford publishing, they no longer have any rights to the book...basically they stitched me up over royalties and I had to take them to court and had both books republished in the UK by Beaten Track Publishing, A Cockneys Journey last summer and Detective Frank Stone this month. Amazon have left it on there book site even though you can't buy it yet! Both books have been re-edited as I paid them to proof read the books £600 and they never did! Trafford are bigger villains that the Krays! Could you do a review on amazon for me matey? Just type in my name in the book dept. thank Kilburn .

Hi Eddie, I actually placed an order with Amazon.ca for your new book, which I imagine is likely a pre-order for the new edition and not that other 2008 Trafford, unedited version?

"Detective Frank Stone: Villains and Demons"
    Allen, Eddie; Paperback; CDN$ 16.45
Not in stock; order now and we'll deliver when available

I ordered another book along with it to take advantage of free shipping on orders over C$25.00

I bought a Cockneys Journey last summer, just before holidays, but doubt if this one will arrive before August 1st.

At a later time I can certainly attempt to write a brief review of both books - I enjoyed reading A Cockneys Journey but at times was not sure where the line was drawn with actual reality of your life.

What is the story with Is "Around the world in 90 days" - is that yours - available on Amazon.ca as a Kindle edition for the princely sum of $1.00?

You needed Doug & Dinsdale Piranha around to sort out those Traffords!

The Monty Python spoof of the Krays.
