Today is the day preperations start for the new season. Pre season training has begun. Though all the world cup players are currently enjoying much needed holidays and will rejoin team mates over the next few weeks.

Here is the now customary selfie!

I really hope Texeira and Ilori can make a big impact.

In 9 days we play our first preseason friendly against Danish side Bronby.

New signing Emre Can had this to say:

    Exciting stuff!

ps: plenty of Chelsea and Arsenal players are still out in Brazil, delaying their preseason return.

Good to see, I can honestly say that last seasons disappointment has only really sunk in this last few weeks for me, as well as being very proud of the way we played and the fact that we so very nearly won the whole thing I have been wishing the time away more than usual. I want the season to start and for us to go at it again. I'm confidant that we will have a great season and will surprise a few again by challenging for the league.

Last season I was hoping for a good season as always but had no real expectations, this season I have very high expectations to go alongside those hopes.

hopeful of a top 4 finish, anything else is a bonus for me.

cant wait for cl to start either, see how we fair up against the teams in europe, seeding is a bit ****e though, but what happens when you are out of it for a while,

if aspas isnt sold, guessing he will be used for cup games like borini probably will be.

My hope is that Borini will be used for more than that. Not as a regular starter, but hope he gets quite a few sub appearances as well as cup games etc.

If Enrique can stay fit then I'm more than happy for him to be our first choice LB tbh. Just a matter of him staying fit.

Allen v Can could be the story of Allen's season.

I still rate Enrique as a very good LB. If fit, he'll be up and down that line all day, rarely gets beat one on one and is decent with attacking passes/runs too.

Really hoping Can turns out to be our next Mascherano mold player, a top drawer defensive midfielder...god knows we need to find some gems from somewhere to replace Suarez and the aging Gerrard.

You'd also happily see Johnson be our first choice RB if he could stay injured.

I think you all should wait and see with Enrique cos if he's lost a yard of pace he is screwed

Even if Enrique is fine we need another LB. Two of every thing.
