Four people were hospitalised on Monday on the first day of Spain's San Fermin bull run, a daily race through the narrow, cobbled streets of Pamplona that forms part of the northern city's week-long festival. One brave runner was gored in the thigh while the other three suffered fractures during the race against five bulls which lasted 2 minutes and 25 seconds, according to the Red Cross. The bull run at San Fermin - made famous by Ernest Hemingway in his novel "The Sun Also Rises" - is one of hundreds in Spain every year and attracts large numbers of foreign visitors. Runners dress in white with red neckerchiefs and many spectators stay up drinking all night in bars beforehand. please log in to view this image
I am utterly disgusted about this event - couldn't find a single bookmaker offering a price on bull no. 4 to win tomorrow's race.
On a serious note, it's hard to believe this kind of **** is still tolerated in what is classed as an advanced Western European nation. Mon the Bulls.
I bet that's one hell of an adrenalin rush. Sort of wish I'd done it thirty years ago when I was working not far away, and had the chance. A regret I'll take with me to the grave that, along with not getting into Fiona Wilson's knickers when I had the chance.
Man up FFS. They are Bulls! If the roles were reversed, rest assured, they would eat every last one of us! Kill the Bull!!
Stop being silly Bert the Homosexual ****, they wouldn't eat us as they are vegetarians. They would simply kill us for the fun of it.
