An interesting argument would be to ask how many people drink a whole shed load on a night binge and then drive the next day ?
This is true, but does anyone comply to it? Nope it's all the alcohol drinkers fault, even after a half.
You hold your hand up to driving without knowing if you are over the limit? If so, then Proof that people can't be trusted to mix drink (and driving).
Alright, I'll try & put it another way. What does the average drinker even know what 80mg/100mg of blood even is? Do anybody know on here? Because I haven't a clue. If it was zero then the whole country knows. Different beers differ in strength vastly. How do people know when they are approaching the limit? It affects me in different way at different times. Yesterday I got through 5ltrs of cider & felt sober as ****, went to bed, slept poorly & was up at 6.00. Other times I can have just two ltrs & feel pissed & sleep like a log. We all know children have little road sense & can run out after a ball or something without thinking. Technically not the drivers fault but if I'd killed a kid after having a drink I'd be beating myself up about it for the rest of my life wondering if I hadn't maybe I would have avoided it.
No one ha a clue. Unless you're being monitored in a controlled environment it's hard to know how it's affecting you. I know what you mean Bill, sometimes it affects you more than others. The fact is though to some extent it always affects you. That effect might be enough to react to slowly to a light or a pedestrian stepping off the curb.
Maybe it's because you are a boring twat and nowt else, who knows? Ya ginger headed skirt wearing girls blouse.
You started a discussion and took offence to one of my comments. Don't start threads on a public forum unless you can handle a debate, especially on a subject regarding drink driving which effects people who have lost friends and family through drink driving.
Suggest you go back to the op. It's about going from the current level, most of who have not got a clue what it is, but most would probably guess about 2 pints, down to zero tolerance. I understand what the thread is about, i posted the ****er. Maybe you are correct, i can't handle a debate, well not with ****wits like yourself.
Which is why Zero Tolerance is needed as people can't be trusted to regulate themselves, plus most people get drunk on a night out, wake up in the morning and drive their car (still over the limit). Thats why Zero Tolerance is needed
Dead against it, as the way I washed my hands of Sess showed. It disgusts me. I don't drive, I only feel safe in the passenger seat of big cars. Every time I get in a car I know I'm being forced to put my safety in the hands of thousands of people I've never even met, knowing that a lot of these are drinking, taking drugs or driving illegally and scares the **** out of me. I've been in a crash and also saw someone very close to me die in a crash in front of my vehicle thanks to a drug driver. They should throw away the key.
I work in.pubs and clubs. I normally arrive at 6:30 or 7pm and leave at midnight. I have one pint when I get there and nothing else. That registers as a zero On a breathalyzer (been pulled loads of times coming home). I think the law is going.too far. They tried something similar but it was thrown out due to certain medicines containing alcohol. If you get done for drink driving after taking medicine it opens up a whole load of issues And by the way, I agree with opinion.throwing away the key part bri
The laws are already in place in Germany, France, Spain and parts of America. They are designed to take into consideration any alcohol in a persons system from drugs so no one will be arrested for using mouthwash, unless they mix it with Vodka! Remember they are only talking of lowering the limit (to 50mg) and you can still have a drink, possibly a pint (depending on its strength), but go further and you risk jail.
So let's say you have a gargle of listerine, and swallow a bIt, honking as it is. Then go for a pint (just the one), could that not put you over he limit?
