Only if we are desperate to fill the hole on August 31st. It is vital we get a decent left back in. We could do worse than Cole but he would only be a short term option. - I just wondered if anything could be read in to these things regarding right back. Kelly was Rodgers original RB before getting a serious injury. Rodgers had a lot of high praise for Kelly. Kelly has been injured for 18 months but Kelly has said he is getting back to his best. Rodgers has said Kelly will be a Liverpool next season. Liverpool have said Johnson will not leave Liverpool this summer, but neither will he get a new contract. - Is Kelly still in Rodgers plans, at least for a trial season? Is Johnson staying 1 more season as a back up plan as Rodgers does not want to spend if Kelly will eventually return?
I'm not sure if Rodgers knows who his RB will be yet. It looks more like he's waiting to see who (if anyone) steps up this season. Kelly, Flannagan, Wisdom or McLaughlin could all step up to the plate and make that spot their own for the next 10 years but, if they don't, he's got Johnson for this season to fill in. I guess if no one does, he'll go out and buy a RB next summer instead when Johnson (finally) leaves.
We're not selling Flanno! The red cafu! Also, do some modding and look at my comment on the prediction league will ya.
I don't but this "do deals before Suarez goes so people don't know we have as much money". Do people really think foreign clubs are sitting there going, hmm I doubt Liverpool have much money so lets charge them less. Every man and his dog know Suarez is off and we'll have something over £60m to spend. If we all know it here, then you can bet your life chairmen at other clubs know it and will boost the price up whether we enquire before or after its made official.
Said that earlier in the Suarez thread. Of course everyone knows we're in line for a big pile of dosh and they're obviously going to try and unburden us of as much as possible. I'd rather we were patient, and went for the right people (not too many) because there's really no advantage to be gained by rushing.
On Lovren, he is a good all round player. Good in the air reads the game well and puts in a tackle. The only thing that annoys me is he switches off four or five times a game now and again. It's not every game but it's like he gets distracted which always leads to a goal or him giving away a foul.
So you don't think teams demand more from sides that have more money available?? You don't think teams raise the price of players if Real Madrid, City, Chelsea, Barcelona etc are reportedly interested??
Of course they do. The point is that they already know that we're in line for that money, so they will bump their price up anyway.
