I don't really care what Lovren is saying. Just like Lambert, Shaw and Lallana, I have little time for what players have to stay - good or bad. Whatever the circumstances are over someone leaving, the fact still remains that they've left - so I really don't give a monkies (and never have) as to how they have left. All I care about are the players who pull on the Saints shirt. If someone wants to leave, then fine, goodbye. Take the cash and move on.

I will only start raising concerns/feeling aggrieved etc, if it's getting close to the deadline day and we have yet to spend much of this cash on adding (quality) to our threadbare squad. But even then, those negative feelings of mine would be towards the board, not the players who have left.

If losing Pochettino was the trigger for the mass exodus of players (only 3 so far), why have none of them followed him to Tottenham? My view is that it wasn't so much him going as the dissent and lack of confidence in the board he spread in the squad once Cortese had gone. We have heard the stories of a group of senior players who stopped giving 100% in the last few months of the season, presumably with Pochettino's full knowledge. Then, once he had gone, the disaffected players were free to pursue their own separate campaigns of disruption. We may never find out exactly how much the new board were to blame for any of this, but it seems clear in retrospect that, given the fact that they forced Poch to buy himself out of his contract, they must have had some idea of what was going on.

Yeah, that's probably fair. However if they're saying they're going to continue to progress (as you pointed out, they have - though in seemingly throwaway fashion), then at the moment there's nothing to back that up except seemingly empty words. We'll see over the summer how serious they are about progression, but at the moment all I see is a whole lot of cause for scepticism. I just miss Cortese. :(

Issues with other players seem to have been largely dealt with. The only ones **** stirring recently have been Lord Twatbeard and Lovren.

If the communication is that bad, how does he know the ambitions of tbe club have changed? A brand new training complex, a CL standard manager, 90 odd million to strengthen the squad. Those bits would indicate the club are still very ambitious about getting into Europe.

However, does seem apparent that there was no end of season debrief, with the squad and board. I would have thought it would be standard practice for a senior manager to thank all staff for the previous season and give indications about what the club were going to be doing over the close season. That way everyone would leave for the summer in a positive frame of mind about the club.

    I'm calling bullshit.

He says he wants to stay if everything is the same as before, but his head in in Liverpool and he wants the hear ynwa all the time.

He says he's had no contact from the club, but he knows that we had a bid, when we had it, that it was accepted, then it was rejected and how much the club now want.

If you want to leave just say, I had a great time with saints, but I just can't turn down the chance to play in the CL for one of the most famous clubs in the world.

The training complex has absolutely nothing to do with the new board, Koeman's not an elite manager yet like some people are making out (what's a CL standard manager anyway?) and we've currently spent £0. As I've pointed out, there's nothing they've done to trust them entirely just yet.

It seems a few on here have doubted the board on here from day one what with all the ass** stripping crap being said etc. Yes they have to prove they are doing a good job. But I would have thought they would be given time to prove it instead of as soon as two players that want to leave start bitching at the board they believe the bitching players.

Cortese lovers to the bone. Probably Lowe lovers before that. Type of people with little backbone who suck up to any bully in authority.

It would have been an absolute disaster on every level if they tore it down after Cortese left. Absolutely no relation to the new board, new ambition etc etc.

And probably. Player, absolutely, but I think that's what makes people think Koeman is some kind of superstar manager. Koeman is certainly more experienced than Pochettino too, but either way, it's not as if we've gone and hired Mourinho or Guardiola.

If you take it as me saying we should have done, yes. It was just a comment about with how some people have reacted to the Koeman appointment, you'd think we had.

Every saints fan should read this post carefully and slowly. This is what being a football fan is about. The blame game is so overrated when in reality we have no idea what goes on behind the scenes.
