I've made up a Killing Joke compilation which works for me. Loads of songs with throbbing tempo which builds and builds to a crescendo.

I know, its like drum and bass without it ever effing kicking in.

as for pump up job music, Otto von Schirach or most stuff by Bong Ra.

DNB?! Skrillex is more like Breakbeat/Fidget. Far too slow a tempo for DNB!

On second listen, it's not Dubstep as the tempo of the drums aren't half-time (main characteristic of Dubstep drumbeat with the double time rhythm provided by the rest of the song) and it's four-to-the-floor kick drum.

I don't mind decent Dubstep, but a lot of the commercial stuff is ****e and it's a lot like electro house a couple of years ago (it's played/overplayed at most electronic music nights as it's guaranteed punters through the door). Generally means a club will be packed, sort of ruined the second room for a while at Subdub as you couldn't move until the DNB came on later on in the night.

<embarassedsmiley> See I was gonna say dubstep, then thought, na not quite, something like Skrillex - Cinema remix would fit under dubstep for me, so I thought what could I describe that song as, so plumped for d'n'b and obv. got it quite wrong <laugh>
