A board room never communicates it's agenda with the staff of a Company... It Is passed down to the Manger etc.. Cortese was just a one off.

Awww, poor Dejan. The poor man has had broken promises, people leaving, people not telling him about offers. My heart bleeds, seriously. Get a grip you stupid man. You sign a 4 year contract, and you want to bugger off after one as soon as a 'big' club come calling. The club should stick him in the bloody reserves, and let him rot. Fed up with this garbage from players quite frankly.

Agreed, but what confuses me is Morgan saying he spoke to the relevant people, has been speaking to Koeman and spoke with Reed also. That's partially what makes me think it's an excuse.

    Hmm...

Lovren says we accepted an offer, and yet no one is telling him what is happening. Odd. He says the offer was 20m but the press have revealed no offer of near 20m has actually been made. Odder. He says no one knows who is in charge, but have a new manager who is talking to Morgan. Oddest.

Conclusion? Desperate bullshit from another tapped up Liverpool target.

I don't think the board have handled it very well at all which is very clear and I think there was a power vacuum. After all Krueger was the mouth piece and now Reed is giving all the interviews etc

I do think it's important to put a timeline on Lovrens comments

Most of the interactions between himself and the club would have occurred at the end of the season and pre world cup. With no manager in charge. Now Koeman is in place I would hope the players are now no longer confused about who is in charge. When was this interview conducted?

I think he must have believed we could get into Europe otherwise he'd have stayed at Lyon where he was getting Champions League football. I think we had a good enough core to get European football (hence why our best players are all linked with and moving to teams that are competing in Europe). What we needed was greater depth so that when injuries occurred we had good enough players to replace them. The fact that those players making up the core of that team are leaving indicates to me that the belief is no longer there that we can achieve European football.

If Koeman is given all that money (I know papers say he will be but actions speak louder than words) then maybe we can maintain our competitive status, otherwise it might be a season of safe mid-table when I felt we had the potential to be pushing for top 6.

This week. He seems to think we got an offer of £20m, when Blackmore and Peach both say the offer was nowhere near that.

I've not heard of any £20m bid, last I'd heard they offered around £12m.

I don't really buy that. Other players don't seem to be having any trouble contacting the relevant people.

I dunno. Cork and Fonte have apparently both complained that they're unable to get in contact with anybody - this was before Koeman, but still doesn't paint a good image of the board.

I know this is never going to happen, but I would love to see the board ask all bids to come in fax form and then publish them to counter LFC's underhand manipulation of our players.

Someone is passing inflated figures to the press, and it is no one at this end.

"Saints are great and I would want to stay if 'the dream' hadn't died. On a totally unrelated subject, aren't Liverpool sooo amazing and the bestest club in the world?"

Big difference between the board being communicative and players having to go out of their way to get any sort of information.

If I knew the board was trying to hire a new manager to replace one who left, I, personally, would allow them a couple of weeks to sort things out. The problem here is we have a bunch of drama queens who need to be fellated daily to make them feel special.

Where as Morgan has already said he has spoken to Koeman. It is just a excuse so Lovren makes out the club is at fault.

I think that we can take the "rudderless ship" comments with a pinch of salt. If that simply means that they have acknowledged his letter but not been in constant touch them my heart bleeds custard.
Funny how all the players wanting to sign contracts with clubs offering to hike their earnings and play CL football blame their desire to go on, er, the fact that other players want to do the same thing! Remember how they were all saying how important it was to get MP to sign a new contract but who could claim that the new man is not at least as ambitious? We have the club saying that they wanted to keep their best players and the manager, and it's obvious that they tried very hard to keep MP. Everyone who has left has done so for more money and the only one who has done so with any grace is SRL. Let us not forget that pretty much all the rumours, which proved accurate, surfaced before the end of the season when Pochettino was still in place and talking about signing a new deal. Yes, I am sure that they all have find memories about Southampton but business is business, right?

If communication at Saints made life so hard, then why haven't Steven Davis, José Fonte, Jack Cork, Nathaniel Clyne, James Ward-Prowse tried to force a move?

Perhaps because it isn't and is little but an excuse for footballers on holiday who can't be arsed with acting professionally?

If it really was as hard as poor petals Lallana and Lovren are making out, Davis etc would want to go too, after all they could move to a club like Swansea, Newcastle, Stoke, Leicester and have a similar sort of set-up with a more communicative and accessible board that gave them more happiness. But they don't.

Lock him in his room with with never walk alone playing on repeat and he'll soon hate Liverpool.

Thanks for the info that the interview was this week, but although the article was published the information seems to be from a few weeks ago. He has not mentioned Ronald Koeman once, which is surprising and you'd expect it to come up in the interview
I seem to remember that the news of his transfer request which is presumably the letter he speaks of came out before Koeman was appointed.

I honestly think we're looking at an old interview. Whether his views on the club have changed since speaking to Koeman only time will tell

But they're not being linked with Liverpool, Arsenal, Man United, Napoli etc...

Exactly. It's not a big enough reason on its own to make you want to leave, but if you're considering a move to a huge club it would sure as hell help your head turn. None of those players could reasonably expect to be picked up by a CL team.
