Cairney had his head turned by Bullard and I never considered Alex Bruce as playing a part in his move, he did that by himself.

I am still annoyed we let Cairney go, should of extended his deal last summer and loaned him out for the summer and let him come back. Would of been great to have him for Europe and Cups this year.

Bruce is not good enough for us, and neither is Faye. If Bruce is fifth choice fair enough, but any higher it would start to worry me. If he was a holding midfielder i'd be even more worried.

I work with Tom's sister. He knew he'd have to look elsewhere when Bruce was getting midfield roles ahead of him. He featured in Bruce's team until he got injured at Donny, then never really got a look in.

Cairney (or rather his agent) queered his pitch with his mental 'I demand a huge salary' when he wasn't even a first team regular.

Unable to establish himself under Brown, Dowie, Pearson, Barmby or Bruce........

Don't acknowledge him, the guy is an idiot. Fayes gone right down in my estimation after reading that, he wasn't playing because he's not good enough anymore. Of course he knows better than the manager who took us to the Cup Final/Europe/Premiership safety. Put him and Mr Twat in a barge in the middle of the Atlantic and leave them to amuse themselves with their 'opinions'

It's a shame, I liked Faye. I agree with you though, he's lost my respect after that little tirade. I said this on another thread and I'll say it again, nobody is bigger than the club. NOBODY.

So Tom thinks he should have been picked as a holding midfielder, the role Alex Bruce played when he played in midfield? Tom Cairney is not a defensive midfielder and never will be.

    I smell bollocks.

Of course he was going to say that, he was pissed off about being chosen behind a Championship reserve player.

A player who was pretty impressive in getting you promoted got 3 premier league games last season, in which only 2 goals were conceded.

    Hull 1 - 0 West Ham
    Hull 0 - 0 Aston Villa
    Everton 2 - 1 Hull

As soon as we let in a goal against Everton on opening weekend, we are going to play our reserves for the rest of the season too ... <whistle>

If I was a Leicester fan, Upson would scare me, surely you need a fair few signings before you can be confident of survival?

I think its the other end im more worried about, Upson was POTY for Brighton last year, whether he can make the step (back) up is another question though. The backline next year is going to be challenging QPR for age i think!

Albrighton had a good end to the season last year, so hopefully he'll provide us with something extra.

We've been nice and fast on the free transfer front, not so good when it comes to spending money.

Albrighton is okay but only made 9 starts this season at Villa and they hardly set the league alight. Being a newly promoted side isn't easy and everyone knows how difficult it is to compete. Putting a salary cap at £30k isn't the best way to go either if you ask me, bit of a trivial example but what if you're competing with several and need to offer £32/33k to get him... what happens then?

At least Albrighton and Upson have some past experience of Prem football, other than that, we havn't got alot more other than Nugent and Konchesky many moons ago :s

Im not sure where the salary cap has come from, but the clubs never going to confirm or deny it, ive no doubt that Schmeichel will probably be on more than that for him to sign for another 4 years.

Im sure that the players that would be coming in will be offered around £30k, which is why i think Frazier Campbell hasn't signed, because hes probably on more with Cardiff in the Championship.

In some ways i see it as a good thing, if the dressing room is on similar wages, you can expect them to be happier as a team, we don't want another Beckford situation on our hands where he was making a fair whack of money more for doing bugger all, also similar to Bullard i'd guess.

Im really hoping that Pearson follows Bruces example of bringing in fringe players on loan from top clubs rather than his usual "buy young and hope they develop well" approach that hes adopted before. Connor Wickham seems like a big risk to me.
