Haven't we been at this very juncture several times before...... Hooper, Mvila, Parker.... Despite the overwhelming bookies odds I prefer to wait for the official confirmation. He would be a great signing; and if Redknapp is so committed to Rio Fernandes I'm prepared to go along with his judgement, without necessarily understanding it. I don't think he's done too badly with his signings so far.
Onouha's a loyal servant of the club, and one of our best players. Caulker would be a fantastic partner to stick alongside him.
Don't Spurs have first refusal on Caulker? If London is such a big draw for him I won't be surprised to see him back at WHL under Pochetino.
When Caulker was at the Swans he had Ashley Williams "mentoring" him and they had a great partnership. I don't think Caulker is ready to be a "No 1" centre half and would benefit from a Ferdinand/Caulker partnership. In a way, it's the perfect centre half partnership for the both of them.
I can't see if this has been posted yet: http://www1.skysports.com/football/...leaves-steven-caulker-to-mull-over-qpr-switch Solskjaer- "The clubs have agreed a fee,” the Cardiff boss told Wales Online. “It’s been accepted and now it is up to Steven to decide. At the moment QPR is the only one I know about. I have spoken to them. “It’s up to Steven if he goes. Of course the lure of the Premier League might be too much for us to hope he might stay here. He has to make that decision. “You want to get the business done as soon as possible. We’ve shown that ourselves by signing players early on in the summer. It makes it easier then to get a settled squad.”
He's 1/10 to sign for us with Everton at 8/1 2nd favourites. I hope this doesn't become another Hooper type of situation like last season.
Cannot see Rio playing every game. We need 25 first team players and Harold likes to pick confusing mixtures to confuse the opposition (and us) - so still see a role for Ned/
In regards to Caulker, why the hell does Harry have to advertise it to one and all? How many times before have we've been shot in the foot ? I don't get it .................. you never hear another manager making such comments.
Tottenham join the race for Nottm Forestâs QPR, Arsenal and Everton target Jamaal Lascelles Posted by Rob Parker - July 6, 2014 - All News, Arsenal, Championship, Everton, QPR, Tottenham Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is plotting a move for Nottingham Forest youngster Jamaal Lascelles, according to reports. The 20-year-old centre-back is said to be a target for Spurs as Pochettino aims to overhaul the White Hart Lane transfer policy. The Argentine wants to land £6m-rated Lascelles, Swansea left-back Ben Davies and Southampton centre-back Dejan Loveren, claims the Mail on Sunday, with the intention of bringing in young British talent to play alongside solid Premier League performers. The England under-20 international is reported to be to be wanted by newly-promoted QPR â managed by former Spurs boss Harry Redknapp â who have reportedly lodged a £4m offer. Lascelles, who played 34 games in Forestâs first-team last season, was previously the subject of a bid from Arsenal, while Everton were fined £45,000 for an illegal approach made in 2010.
Can't please all of the people all of the time. If he says nothing, some panic that we are not signing anyone If he does say something, he gets told to shut up! Quite frankly it is all irrelevant. Caulker's agent will have made sure that every Premier League club, and beyond, is aware of his availability and will be advising him to wait to see if anyone else makes a bid.
Fair comment there, mate. I just find it so frustrating that it takes us a wet week to get anyone and then, before you know it, the player has gone to someone else and we get left with zip.
We're always going to be bottom of the food-chain until we establish ourselves in the PL. We just have to hope that Harry can persuade Caulker based on the fact he has managed him at Spurs and he'll be a 1st choice...
