I'm looking at it this way. I don't want any of the 3 teams already through to the semis to win the trophy.

Costa Rica will not win the trophy.

Therefore I want Holland to win as they potentially could beat the other 3.

And they buggered Spain. Remember that.

Apart fronm the historical thing with the Germans I just dont get the hate for them Ernie. They are everything we should be. apart from Littbarski I cant think of another winger since Netzer they are all typical English hard working hard running battlers. Which is supposedly the English character.

I wouldnt be arsed about it if they won it. If there's a blueprint we need to follow its theirs.

Though I am arsed cos I've got money on Brazil and the Argies.

Congratulations to Uzbekistan's Ravshan Irmatov, who sets a new record for referee appearances at the World Cup - this is his ninth match. (Nicked from BBC.)

Would be pretty cool if Costa Rica won today. Not that I really care who wins.

Killer Kluivert sweating away on the Dutch bench there. Hope he's behaving himself these days.

No - and I guess he won't get the top job with the Dutch yet, as Danny Blind is lying in wait.

Navas has been the best keeper by a mile.

    In this match? Yes.

In the tournament? You'd have to go some to beat Tim Howard for me.

He's certainly been the best keeper-sweeper.

Howard had a amazing a game against Belgium, but overall I'd say Navas edges it.

Germany have dominated most games. So Neuer hasn't had much to do.

Howard had already had a very good tournament before the Belgium game. Superb throughout.

I can't believe Holland aren't ahead, they've been much more dangerous.

    Though Navas has been brilliant.

It's been an odd World Cup, more games have been decided by the keepers than the strikers.

Neuer for me. The game where he came off his line 20 some times was insane.

Howard was stellar as well but I think Neuer has been the keeper for the tournament so far.

Brilliantly organised team in white defies several more celebrated opponents. 2004 all over again, anyone?

This is a good game in a boring way. Costa Rica defending really well and Holland patiently probing and keeping the ball well. Neither side losing the discipline to stick to their game plans. Both admirable but not entertaining!

Christ - that Ureña, who hasn't scored in three years at his Russian club, is only 24!

    Tough paper round.
