The Tour de France kicks off today in Yorkshire. Will Mark Cavendish win the first stage, finishing in Harrogate (where his mum lives)? Will Chris Froome win the Tour? Or Contador? Or.......?
Looking forward to it, have got really into biking these days and out most days, so appreciate how good these guys are.
Are you as good as these guys, John? (Ignore the chemical enhancement!)
Certainly not Stan, only averaging about 50 miles a day, and certainly not at the pace these guys go at. I saw that Louise Minchin who presents the news on BBC riding up Holme Moss yesterday with a former pro, and they were doing 10 miles an hours, and he said the pro's would be doing 20, which is amazing.
Forget that rubbish, this is the ultimate two wheeled racing
Bike sales in Leeds must have gone up 10 fold in the last few weeks. The number of people on the roads has been ridiculous. On the plus side if your looking for a new road bike there'll be plenty of nearly new ones for sale in the next month or so.
I live in Derbyshire and they expect 45,000 spectators tomorrow, to park in a small town & muddy fields. Wish it far enough! Bugger off back to France is my opinion
The Cannibal - Eddy Merckx. To me, the greatest..... YouTube is acting silly buggers!
It passes about 500m from my house so I'll wander down and see it, can't say I'm overly fussed though.
It's fabulous Le Tour is in Yorkshire. Really looking forward to it all. Super excited. Hope Cav wins the first sprint. The sexiest man to ever wear a cardi. There is a Tour of Yorkshire happening in 2015 which I believe is including Hull.
Fabulous stuff there Stan. Proper cyclists there with lily white bodies and razor sharp tan lines lol.
It would be, but since it's systematically ignored East Yorkshire it means **** all from a local point of view.
Sorry John but these guys have it easy, roads all cleared of traffic whereas I do it day to day backwards and forwards to work and believe me cycling, my main mode of transport, is not what it was.
I have volunteered to be a Tourmaker and will be in York tomorrow very early for the start of stage 2
Isn't there 'City Centre Racing' in Hull this Sunday? (National Championships or summat). [Edit: Looks like it's Wednesday: http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/na...Cycling-National-Circuit-Race-Championships-0
Believe me sometimes I think it may be better doing it that way instead of back and forth each day in the usual manner
