I work all over the UK, and have heard most of the accents, some of which are indecipherable if the person talks fast, some are amusing, whereas some are downright irritating

My 2 favorites are Geordies and Black Country

The most irritating (well, 2nd most irritating) is Bradford, especially with the late teens and 20-30 age group.

Not PC wise enough to set up a vote chart , but feel free to add a vote system if you know how to do it .

I didn't add your first choice, but agree totally.
However, Brum and Black Country are different, much to the annoyance of genuine BC people if you refer to them as Brummies. To be honest, I find it OK

I really dislike the Brummie and West Country accent (can't really distinguish between them, as I've never been in that area for long). Cockney accent is probably second most annoying, after that accents are much of a muchness. Broad Glaswegian is not so much an accent as a different language.

Love the Northern Irish accent and also have a soft spot for the Geordie twang, as I've spent long periods in both places. <ok>

Agree with you on the Geordies CCC, it has to be my fave plae to work in the UK, although Portsmouth gives it a very close call. Both are a pleasure to work in, everyone is helpful and freindly. Always chuckle when the Geordies say " See you later" especially as only make one call per inspection, and won't be back for 12 months. Derby and Nottingham always say "Meduck"

One I forgot about was Glasgow and Edinburgh, but its a long time since I worked there. There is only 50 miles between the two cities, but the accent is totally different. Glaswegians can sound very aggressive even when they are not, whilst in Edinburgh its a far softer and more appealing accent

Can't tell between brummie and West Country?

About 100 miles, one is midlands and the other is south west cider country!

Mancunian is best, Worcester is worst.

Geordie and Mackem sound great if they're female, the blokes sound ****ing stupid.

    This.

Don't like very broad scouse or very broad manc - a gentle scouse or manc twang is good, but a thick accent makes people sound like incomprehensible twats (think Carragher and the Gallagher brothers).

Quite a fan of Northern Irish, and a mild west country accent.

In general, I don't mind any accent if it isn't too strong, but when it becomes really broad and strong then most of them sound pretty bad.

Carragher must be the only TV pundit that needs sub titles. And spot on with the Gallagher brothers, forgot about those two foul mouthers

Have to agree. Broad accents, in general, are not good.
