Now that is want i want to hear, confidence from the manager,he wants the title. Quote from Mark Little for the dimwits. The manager is excited about this season and wants to win the league. I want to be part of that and jumped at the chance of coming here.*“With no disrespect to Peterborough, I’ve come here to play for a bigger club in Bristol City. Realistically the club should be a lot higher.”*
This quote in the first post is by Mark Little, not SC. Has SC ever been publicly quoted that he wants/expects to win the league?
One day we will get promoted back to The Championship. I just hope I am still alive to see it happen!
So am I, but the past tells me that I should temper my enthusiasm because we have been let down so many times before. But I really want it to be a good season!
One thing that 45 years of football has taught me is simple. The bookies are never far off and the teams with the best players usually do well. We now have some very good players for this division. They are winners and leaders not like the last lot who wilted at the first sign of pressure. I'm assuming a few things here from what I have read but feel like this is heading in the right direction and I made no attempt to hide my initial feelings of despondency with regard to Cotterills appointment. Hopefully I was wrong..
'I'm assuming a few things here from what I have read but feel like this is heading in the right direction' And me. We were adrift when he joined us but got a decent squad playing. For me, it just shows how useless SOD was. The players he's signed can't be worse than Wagstaff, Gillett, etc If Ayling makes it here, Little will play WB and we'll never see Wagstaff again. Still not sure about our Keeper, Flint and possibly Williams. However, overall we have very good L1 players and great back up. Unusually for me, pretty confident and I think we'll go up.
'we'll never see Wagstaff again." Me and you are never that far apart on player comparisons but I can't see this with Wagstaff, he comes across as a hard working MF who can get a few goals here and there, seen better, but seen far worse (here in recent years.!)
'Me and you are never that far apart on player comparisons' Hard working for you Just runs for me. I will say he does, every now and again, drift into a goalscoring position. But : Has never gone by anyone. He's timid and doesn't understand tackling. Or heading - he got injured (for 3 weeks) in front of the Dolman jumping at a player rather than at the ball. The prat also walks out with his 'crutch' - his water bottle. The ONLY player who does it. Like Mclaren with his brolly and coffee. I honestly think (pray) Cotterill knows as well, that's why I hope he's got Little and fingers crossed Ayling.
