That's a tad pessimistic. Aside from the fact that Lambert's a different sort of player to Suarez, do you really think we won't bring in another forward? Besides, we didn't do too badly during Suarez's last ban. Obviously we'll miss his quality, but its hardly the end of the world.
Don't know anything about Markovic so I can't comment. It seems to have gone quiet on Shaqiri recently, although presumably people have been busy with Suarez if nothing else.
Spurs: paid way over the odds for PL-unproven players under a new manager, and in such numbers that they disrupted the team that already only got 5th place Us: paid over the odds for PL-proven players, only buying players who help with our weaknesses or lack of depth Us >>> Spurs
Isn't that what we did in 2011? Downing was coming off a good season for Villa, goals/assists comparable to Lallana... Edit: I know I'm being a tool. Gutted about Suarez fee.
Lallana is technically much better than Downing was. Downing was trying to start a new style of play with Carroll, which was never properly implemented because of Suarez's quality. Lallana suits our style of play perfectly. Not just the goals and assists, he did more pressing and closing down than the likes of Sterling last season.
anyone here that **** huntelaar on about taking his sweet time of lfc are actually in for him.. oh wil ltalk to shalke, oh going on hols, oh.. oh.. world cup... talk about enthused by offer... stuff that.. plus he's muck
He does the same thing every year. He only seems to sign short contract extensions so his agent can pimp him out every window to try and drive his wages up. Shalke should just get rid. He's not getting younger and he missed half the year through injury.
Lambert is replacing Aspas as our substitute striker... not Suarez. No idea who our replacement Suarez will be. Dirty Sanchez appears dead- Orgy and Huntleaar are the two rumours I've seen most recently.
Less than £63mill? Pretty tepid. Not terrible- but nothing too fantastic either! Hopefully there are optional add-ons too!
Xavi Torres who broke the story on Spanish tv tweeted £63M. All other reports I can find are quoting him/the tv station he reported it on. No confirmation from any reputable UK sources yet.
I'd be amazed if any journo knew the actual amount...but far too many rumours of a deal being agreed for it to be a fishing exercise. Barca wanted ~60mill, we wanted closer to ~80m. If we're closer to their side, I'll be annoyed. He's worth more than 60mill to us.
79.2 as of today is 62.75 Again depends who's exchange rate you use doesn't it but I feel the truth isn't quite there yet as 80 mil sounded too high in sterling but seems shy in sterling you'd have to ask what was exchange rate at time if contract but I still say lfc would not put euros in the contract for that reason
We have to bring in someone new and of as good a profile as Suarez. Yes we did well last August, scoring 1-0 against Stoke and clinging on, same against Manure but until we had the SAS together the goals hardly banged in. But Studge missed games too....brittle hamstrings. If he is out do we really rely on ' one good season, overpriced' Llanana or nearly over the hill Lambert? Guess we still have Aspas.....
