Eh I've been an anti-stripe activist for a while but I'm a big fan of this one. I think it's mainly striped sleeves that I hate. That said, of course I'd rather the hilarious one.
I think they've figured out how to do stripes well for the first time in...christ knows how long. It's the red neckline and the red sleeves which make it work. I think I'll always regret not getting a black away shirt though - that was pure class.
It signals the end of an era. A formal dialling down of ambition - big stripe-celebrating campaign to appease the old school, whilst sssh-ing up the suspicion that we're going nowhere and no longer got a chance of being big in Asia anymore. When was the last time a team wearing stripes won their respective league or got, say, to the Champions League final?! Perennial losers. Those fans will go absolutely mental when they see all that white! All those Asian fans washed down the drain. Wonder who'll benefit from inheriting all our Asian fans in bulk? Oh, hello Liverpool...
errrm, since the one 3 seasons ago?? The aap one in the Championship was very nice. I agree we have had some really bad ones though. The pony thin stripes and the flybe 'reverse england flag' one.
I like the way the white stripes start at the bottom and go up, and the red stripes start at the top and go down, just the ticket. Ooops the krauts have scored.
