the dutch have been pronouncing it like pellet without the t.

**** knows whether they are right.

as we've found with José, the accent can produce an "ay" in portuguese.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento had an é, but brasil is of course a portuguese speaking country.

It's Italian so I'd think it was more of a "Pelleh"

In Italian, you pronounce every letter...so the 'e' would be sounded rather than silent, but not sure in what way.

Fans will still pronounce it to make it fit a song anyway. Ask Fonte.

Because it ends in è rather than é, I think that means it's a short "eh" sound rather than the extended "ey". So yeah, like Dan said.

The media will make some reference to us signing Pele regardless of pronunciation.

Yes, very true there have been a lot of soft benefits, although I hope things like the beds still happened as these are more of a Dave Brailsford marginal gains type thing and help the team as a while to improve performance. Personally I never sleep well in a strange bed. I doubt that these things equated to more than an extra thousand or two quid per player per week. I'm sure I've read the players got good performance bonuses - if they don't perform they don't get them so it is sustainable (paid for by a higher league position).

We've all heard how Cortese was close to the players too, which is also a benefit, and it's easy for the players to say they hear nothing from the board now when in fact they had lots before and maybe a normal amount now. Probably Nic was giving them more time and attention than other clubs do - he knew he had to to keep them sweet.

I've seen enough organisations change when someone important leaves to know that people will always compare the now and then and decide to leave if they loved the then and don't like the now. Groups of people form a herd mentality and will reinforce each others' opinion that they should go; in this case, twatbeard and co.

We're actually not. It's pronounced "peel".

    With a rolled P.

Probably, I can't imagine they'll have signed Sordell as a starter, let alone a replacement for their best player.

We'll just hold on to Dejan Lovenkrands, then.
