    So, the first quarters today for the top 8 players! Hopefully it becomes a little more clear to everyone how it works.

    First up, we have France vs Germany!
    TastyMag
    France 1 - 2 Germany FT
    vs
    Heed:
    France 2 - 1 Germany ET+Pens

    In this instance, as TastyMag and Heed have picked different winners, the FT/ET+Pens situation will not come into effect. If Germany win, TastyMag progresses, if France win, Heed progresses.

    In the second quarter, we have ACS vs Trev predicting Brazil vs Columbia!
    Albert's Chip Shop:
    3 v 2 Columbia ET+Pens
    vs
    trevornufc:
    Brazil 3 - 1 Columbia FT

    In this instance, both players have selected the same winner. If during normal time, or at the end of extra-time it ends 3-2 to Brazil, ACS would progress. If during normal time or extra-time it ends 3-1, trev will progress. If Brazil win by a different score, or Columbia win, then the FT/ET+Pens situation comes into effect. In that instance, if it ends in FT, Trev would win, but if it ends in ET+Pens, ACS will win.

    All clear?


    I'm getting quite excited and I'm not even in the knockout phase <laugh>

    Jpf what about my non quarter matches scores, I've put et and pens which I see now was not needed but are the scores deemed as FT unless I say otherwise?

    For your other matches in these rounds, it works the same as group matches, you can only get 3 points or 1, it's the fairest way for everyone because the rest of us **** predictors are still doing the league. I did think about the idea of letting us pick draws and have the option of picking a winner on Pens like the second round for a max 6 points, which you would have been able to do for the other quarter games, but ultimately that seemed unfair to the top 8 losing one match they couldn't get 6 points in. So everyone should be picking winners for each match, it's just simpler this way.

    Basically, if you predict France 2-0 Germany, and it ends that way in normal time or extra-time, you get 3. If it goes to pens and France win, or they win in normal time or extra-time by a different score, you get 1. If Germany win you would get zero.

    Was just trying to keep it as simple as possible <laugh>
