I understand we need to strengthen our squad, but I fear of pulling a Tottenham. When Suarez goes, I hope we buy top class players, not just numbers
I don't think Brod is as stupid as those Spuds. I think he'll get some quality in - even if it's 2 or 3 players I'm sure he'll do good with the money. It's Ayres ability to negotiate that worries me.
If we get Lovren for ~£20m and Man Utd get Mats Hummels for a similar amount then there is something seriously wrong with the world.
i agree ccc... hummels won't be going anywhere for 20mil though... and lovern just isn't worth 20mil.
Can they afford him? He or someone similar should've been their top priority this summer. Maybe they'll just play Masch CB again all season.
Spurs problem wasnt Bale leaving, it was Levy and Baldini buying players they wanted that AVB didnt want, and that did not fit into AVB's philosophy, and they bought a lot of them. So AVB had a lot of squad begs to squeeze in to round holes. Levy has destroyed his club.
I agree. Lvy signed off on the muck then backed a ****head like adebayor over his manager... result.. 3rd manager in 12 months and no cl having had a great chance destroy is such a strong term however. I would put them in the top 7 still and can only say that they've still a chance at top 4 like the rest. 3-7 is very unpredictable.
well relatively speaking I suppose. 1/2 is going to be citeh or chavski. 3-7 is highly likely to be lfc, spurs, arsenal, everton utd. I defy anyone pick 2 from that 5 with even 75% confidence and lay on £50. 8-12.. likely to be the newcastles but ok you are prob right there little to separate some and someone will suprise 12-17. this is prob easiest to pick as the total muck our league has like stoke, west ham, i expect southampton to fall down here really. QPR hull.... 18-20 is always going to be a shout for the promoted clubs and one or two of the lesser lights, burnely for example. for exampel i can expect all things equal everton are not going to be top 4 but they could pikc up a great little striker and if their back 5 and midfield don't get injrued they'll be in with a shout around 70. I can say generically arsenal always get x... or utd should be back or FLC will stay up there or spurs are muck but really its unpredictable. I'm not going to sit here and type LFC are on for 80 points next season for obvious reasons nor am i going to say 70 is not possible. BUt equally i'm not going to play ollie the ostrich with my head in the sand saying utd can't bounce back ever.
well we finished last season ahead of chelsea, and utd finished somewhere i doubt we will be top 2ish next season considering we will be selling our best player, but hope we buy good enough for top4 at least, but that was our hopes last season, so never know. i have a horrible feeling it will be between the 2 manchester clubs personally, depends on who utd buy and how quickly they adapt to the new tactics i suppose. when we have players costing £20 mill ish sat on the bench, we may stand a chance of title, not ****e like moses ,aspas and allen to try and change things. could be as unpredictable as last season, we broke the money teams barrier, and utd have the experience in that dept, and one day arsenal might take it to the next level, and spurs have a decent manager now, everton no idea, depends on if they can get near enough what they had last season for me.
so you admit he's not worth it then we're all on your side btw.. nobody wants a good side who've worked hard stripped but blame your greedy profit taking owner not us. simply put your guy is decent but i cannot see him fit the style we want in terms of playing the ball on the ground.
but until spet 1 we can't tell can we. there is a reasonable expectation that there is a good deal of profit form felliani still to spend there but it'll also take a fair win from injuries they didn't get last year to consider but i'd not put them 7th. obvious we'd "hope" LFc would be third and everotn say 5th and spurs in particular 7th... but hope and laying money on it are two different things.
I'm going to predict strong seasons from Hull and West Ham, Southampton to hold there own just fine and Redknapp to keep QPR floating nicely. I can see Burnley doing well to. I cant see Levy changing his ways to Spurs could be doomed forever.
I'd be happy if we get Lovren and we have to pay the asking price, he's a superb defender and we are in dire need of a confidant commanding center back. If there are other cheaper options of the same quality then great but we don't need a maybe. Reina also saying he's coming back don't know how that is going to go.
fair enough... i'm predicting a typical rest on laurels disaster for hull per bruces typical record. west ham i dont konw....i cant see southampton being top 10 but i've no clue about burnely. its a big step up. maybe you are right.
