Express: LIVERPOOL and Barcelona have reached agreement over a transfer for Luis Suarez worth £70m. Reports in Spain suggest that an agreement was struck late last night. Barcelona flew into London earlier this week to hold negotiations, which were described as "productive" after the first day. But it seems that a second day of talks have been even more fruitful and that a deal has now been struck. Suarez yesterday reached a verbal agreement over a contract to move to Catalonia, and it now seems only a matter of time until the Uruguayan is unveiled as a Barcelona player.
We don't agree on much but you are totally right about both the saga and the World Cup. I've found the vast majority of the football from Brazil boring and just too pedestrian. For most of the matches - watch the first 10 mins then have a nap and watch the last 10 minutes because that's all the excitement your going to get!!!!
"Suarez yesterday reached a verbal agreement over a contract to move to Catalonia" only yesterday bet he had done a couple of weeks ago. i hope some truth in this, and its done asap. just hope we spend the money wisely.
if anyone on here rememebrs the bale saga..... real had a plinth built to announce the gorilla faced donkey and they were made wait. Dave is right we don't know but i'd expand it to the rags don't know either. All we do know is we'll be glad to see the back of him then on the first day of the season some gobshite will start on about us missing him badly... even though he couldn't play anyway.
I'm not a businessman but I'm fairly convinced that us giving Barca £60m and Suarez wouldn't be a good deal
What's the alleged tautology anyway? We, the Great Unwashed? If so, I disagree. We, as footballs supporters are merely a subset of the Great Unwashed (it being the whole of the lower classes). Therefore one does not truly equate with the other, therefore no tautology is present. I love a bit of semantics on a Friday morning. Will he bite?
great unwashed is anyone who earns under 100k isnt it? (which i should imagine would be most of the country) or something stupid like that, first heard the saying on hussle yrs ago and hadn't seen it again until dave said it.
It goes way back to the 19th Century or something, and was originally used to describe the common people.
i think thats a bit rich 100k? i would have to google it which i'm too lazy to but if you looked and say oh i dunno 1-5% over 100k and then if you went over 50k the % might only up to 10% I dunno.
i think the saying comes from ****s who live in london and have no concept of the real world, and mainly its politicians, lawyers, judges etc i think who use the saying (ie gentlemens clubs for the toffs)
Therefore is it necessary to be a PLEB to be part of The Great Unwashed? If so, which condition has to be achieved first so as to ensure entry into the second stage?
