I've only ever gone self catering, part of my holiday is choosing what I want to eat in a nice restaurant of my choice. May cost a bit more but it's worth it to me.

I can't imagine sitting in the same hotel restaurant 3 times a day, especially when they bang a big gong to tell you trough's up.
I don't know Dan, apparently some of the Hotels do really good local food too but it's just not my thang, food cooked en masse seldom beats food cooked to order. Mind you I do see lots of people eating Roast Beef/Yorkshire pud full english and Pie and Mash which is pointless.
I used to always go SC for the same reason mate . Then I discovered that I could book Ai and pay a wee bit more and still save money . If your Ai you get all your breakies free and all your drinks for nowt . You are not curtailed when it comes to evening meals unless you are a tight **** like MD .
Free drink would'nt be much use to me, I hardly drink on holiday. I know, i'm a real pistol aren't i?

On a slightly different subject......... I got tempted to post a Wid Ye thread on the mod board and got a stern rebuke. I have reason to believe my short spell as mod may be coming to an end.
My Brother in law got the Full English last year at an AI. 2 hot dog sausages, a bit of fried wafer thin ham, a half slice of fried bread, some budget beans and a fried egg wearing a ruff.
