What do we think? The third is AWFUL. We were too lazy to even change the Barcelona colours.

The black kit doesn't appeal to me either. Then again, I like the home shirt so maybe my taste is a bit off considering the general consensus!

I can only think of 1 occasion when we'll wear the 3rd - Bournemouth away. I don't like it much either.

The black kit is pretty smart though, I reckon.

Not sure its us but Nike are poor in designs everything you see is in the basic catologues you seen online

    Our Home £10.49 third £14.24

Our last kit is also in there and was just a re hash of a old Man U kit

Look at England shirts is just a T shirt really no thought or real design on it

Bring in Adidas, Umbro or any smaller make shirt they at least design individual shirts for teams

Charlton's change kit should be, as it was for some 60+ years, white shirts and black shorts. The amber and black, or all yellow kit should be the third option.

The worst kit we ever had was an appallingly horrible all grey.... thing... (can't think of another word for it) that we wore back in the Lennie Lawrence days. I went to see us at the public toilet AKA The Den, when we wore the grey kit. It was just after new year and the weather was as grey and murky as the kit. From the visitors enclosure (the one where you had to peer around a floodlight pylon to see anything at all) I couldn't see the Charlton players when they were at the other end.

I would think it would be highly useful if our players were at least able to see each other. It might help one Charlton player to pass the ball to another. Playing in black, sometimes at night, might not be conducive to that. It's just a thought.

Agreed, there's something very smart about the white shirts/black shorts combination.

Didn't Alex Ferguson once change the Man U strip at half time from grey to blue and white?

Yes, he did. It was during a game against Southampton that United were losing 0 - 4 at half time, but they started the game wearing blue and white, not grey. Sralex later told the BBC (before he stopped talking to them) that he changed strips at half time because the players said they were having difficulty seeing each other, wearing a kit that made them look like they were barcoded from top to bottom.

I believe this was the offending kit

United went into white shirts and black shorts for the second half and eventually lost 1 - 4. I rest my case.

My favourite away kit was the all yellow one we wore 15 seasons back. Very nice.

Sadly the kits these days are nothing more than an opportunity to rip off the parents. I fully expect to be opening my wallet next week :(

Then don't buy it. If fans stopped paying out ridiculous amounts of money for shirts, the clubs would either stop changing so often or would reduce the prices.

    Market forces...... market forces......

Some time ago, I went to a company called TOFFS (The Old Fashioned Football Shirt Company) and bought a Charlton shirt from the 1974 / 75 season. That was a landmark season for me because I saw every game, home and away, in all competitions, and not only that, it was a promotion season. I wear it to games and it not only does the trick vis-a-vis wearing the colours with pride, but it also makes a statement that I've been supporting this club for a loooong time.

The shirt is also timeless. I don't have to buy a new shirt every season. This one will always be my Charlton shirt.

You don't have to have the new shirt every season to be recognised as a true fan.
