Ok, so what happens if both of us go for the losing team? You might have said but I can't see.

And do I need to wait for Dr Shak to predict first before I predict?

If you both predict losing team, same scenario as with picking the winning teams but with incorrect scores, it goes on FT/ET+PENS.

 

You have to pick FT or ET/PENS Tasty mag for your quarters match-up, as the higher seeded player

You ok with ET+Pens Leaft? You are the highest seeded player, so you can take FT off him if you want! Also, it's not in your interest to pick a drawing scoreline as your prediction for knockout round matches. You pick a winner, then as top seeded player, pick either FT or ET+Pens. That doesn't mean your result is only valid if it happens after FT or Pens, but as I've explained, it is the last point of call if neither person gets a correct score or if they haven't chosen winning sides etc.

Yes, you predict all scores. It is important that the group phase keeps ticking on, as you can improve your ranking for semi/final match-ups, so that you have a choice of FT/ET+Pens

Ok, so if we both pick a score and then a band of Mexican bandits invade the pitch in protest at Robben's dive in the last 16, kidnapping the referee and demanding that FIFA re-instate Mexico immediately, and the 4th official then abandons the game on behalf of the kidnapped referee - who wins then?

Yeah, ET+PENS.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about this issue. The Full-time (FT), ET+PENS is not of any meaning WHATSOEVER to your scoreline prediction. It is a failsafe back-up to ensure a winner from each knockout match. Think of it as completely separate to the scoreline you predict, and it may help.

TOP SEEDED PLAYERS SHOULD BE PICKING THEIR SCORELINE, which will be taken as correct if it is the final score at the end of normal time or extra-time, and THEN PICKING FT OR ET+PENS completely independently as part of the failsafe. There is not really any point in having a draw prediction as the scoreline.

Basically, the choice means that the higher seeded players have some reward for finishing higher, but at the same time, each player has a fair chance of going through.
