Adam Lallana has taken out a full page ad in the local Southampton papers, thanking the Saints fans for their support during his 14 years at the Club. And Saints & Bournemouth benefited hugely from his transfer. That seems to me the right way to do it. We have invested 8 years in Poyet & he walks away for a big money move which sees us get £400k max. I am not of the Twitter Generation but the last thing I want to see now is a drip feeding of agent scripted excuses.

Completely agree with this, very classy move by Lallana.

I would not expect the same from Poyet as he was only in the public eye for 20+ games but before those games a lot of time and effort was put in by a lot of good people within the academy in moulding Poyet into a quality footballer and it really hurts to see him leave for what will be an insulting amount of money and not reflective of his talents and the work of the academy.

The 'blame game' surrounding Poyet's departure is incredibly diverse but whether you blame CP for not giving him his chance earlier, RD for his treatment of two managers DP clearly trusted and shattering any trust he had in the board, a combination of TJ, MS & RD for not being able to tie him down to a new deal or DP himself for allowing his contract to run down (assumingly for his own financial gain) it is the club, its fans and most importantly the academy itself that are being sh*t on from a great height on this one.

The blame game over Poyet is a good phrase, it has been fought out for over 2 weeks now. Move on with a bit of class Diego, but please don't sign for your Dad's team.

This must be correct as it comes from the man who regularly leaps over the mark. I trust my posts will also now be ignored

Not going to rise to the bait. Banter is one thing, yes I do go too far on occasions and have apologised to individuals off line when I have. What I don't appreciate are teenage scribblers like Captain Cowardly Custard applying their greenhorn A'Level psychology theories to my choice of words. CCC has done it before & has now done it once too often. No problem if the Mods want to ban me but CCC knows he is out of order & is free to get in touch for a chat. Man to man.

I disagree with the way you word things, because so often you use terms I think are inaccurate, as in this case with your description of the support for RD. I fail to see how that is something wrong; surely it's a key part of debating to have your language subject to scrutiny (you're more than welcome to pick on any terms I use you disagree with)? I'm also not a teenager - I'm 21. But what has that got to do with anything?

I shouldn't have mentioned the victim card thing. Even though I think it's true, it was irrelevant to the debate. For that, I apologise.

It's been good having you on this forum, despite all the disagreements. It would be a shame if you resort to ignoring me.

Oviedo is a great place. Did you visit the sublime Cathedral of San Salvador? I could write a book about its oddities and non-conformities.

Brazil was wonderful, electrifying, captivating, but ultimately dissatisfying in terms of football. I've been before, yet this time I had no free minutes for site-seeing.

I'm on the lookout for final tickets...

Any more of the verbals and I'll close the thread! Both move on from it now.

The debate is very strong on her from all of you guys - it doesn't need to resort to the rest of the rubbish.

Plus our third kit is horrible and I can't handle all of these texts/emails

Well said. We need different views and perspectives. Without dissent there is no debate.

The last thing I would ever want is to write on a site where everybody agreed with me. That would be boring and I might even get big headed and think I know a thing or two. That would never do.

By all means agree to disagree and keep on arguing your respective points of view, but I'm sure you can do it like civilised gentlemen.

After all, we're not Millwall supporters, are we..?

Reasonable would be responding to direct points, questions or facts, and questioning things that don't fit in with ones chosen agenda... So how the hell did this thread go from questioning the..."all things bright and beautiful, Lord Roley makes all things well" brigade... too the virtues of Poyet..?
