I meant to say I feel healthier than it seems healthier so apologies for that. Not sure of the science behind it. Others seem to know much more about it than I do. As I've never been a big meat eater then it's not that difficult to give up for me. I've never eaten lamb either. It's eating baby animals that really puts me off the most. Give me fungus/Quorn anyday.

That's a huge misconception, for a start most western diets have too much protein, an adult male only needs about 60g a day unless your an athlete or bodybuilding.

Beans, lentils, nuts...etc can provide you with all the protein you need if your vegan, its even easier if your vegetarian because there's eggs, millk...etc as well.

Health issues don't arise from the fact your veg/vegan they arise from a poor veg/vegan diet same with meat eaters.

Life is all about learning Shirl.

All this talk of eating animals is making me want me dinner so I'm off for me veggie noodles and fruit.

Have we always drunk cows milk?

Here's a question that I don't strictly know the answer to, do herbivores eat eggs?

I was a vegetarian for 20 years and have just started eating meat again and I have serious meat lust. Can't get enough of the stuff!

I love learning me. The trouble is, despite what we'd like to think, there's no real definitive answers, just a concensus of what is the best fit based on current knowledge. Sometimes that knowledge is tainted because of who produced it and why.

I'd really like to try Human. According to the reports of cannibals we taste like pork, and I like pork.

Unlike a bacon butty, people never walk in and say "ooh, that salad smells nice".

We're odd creatures really, we crave stuff that does us no good at all. Few, if any, animals suffer obesity unless they're domesticated.

Not sure on either of those.

I presume we only started drinking other animals milk after agriculture developed, can't imagine milking wild animals was easy to do.

I get serious meat cravings, usually at night before bed.

I've stopped stocking the fridge with ready cooked meaty snacks like pork pies etc. else I find myself pigging out just before going to bed. When I first banned myself from late night meat munching the unbelievable craving gave me sleepless nights. I don't know if its possible to get a meat addiction but if it is I have one.

    Ever tried catching a sheep?

    It's nigh on impossible.

Not really relevant, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway, just in case anyone planned on trying to catch a sheep later.

I stopped drinking most brands of cows milk after someone showed me some articles on the hormones and additives they use in production. I'm not sure if I'm any better off or just being robbed by buying organic.

I'm not really into wine, I think I'd probably wash it down with some goats blood or something.

Unless you mean cooking human in red wine sauce, in which case certainly not. It would most likely be a one off chance to sample a very rare delicacy that I would eat it plain to get a good feel for the meat itself.

No your right to do so, there's a lot crap in milk.

    Cheap meats are the same.

I'm not sure about the too much protein thing. I think it's more the case that we're too lazy and adjust our diets accordingly, obsessing over calories when really we should just be using more. You mentioned athletes, that's what we're meant to be. Not necessarily competitively of course but we should all be active and fit, and that doesn't mean starving yourself as a lot of people seem to believe.

With regard the second bit, that makes sense and a quick google gives me a similar answer, but it was you that said meat eaters are at greater risk of some diseases, and as you've just acknowleged it's more about a poor diet than a veggie or meat based one, haven't you proven your own point wrong there?

See above, I'm sure this is cos we've all got lazy and post on Internet forums instead of running about after a deer or whatever.

Yes I have and yes I've succeeded.

A mate of mines parents have a bloody big house with acres of grassland where they allow their neighbours to graze their sheeps. We used to chase them about and they'd soon start a terrified stampede, it was quite fun.
