Some of it, yes. I've been on the ferry and train with both sets of fans so please don't tell me I'm wrong.
You have been on the Ferry and Train? That's it then. How far would you be willing to go back to find the root cause though? My guess is not far back enough for the Scottish to have any blame.
No but you clearly have a bigger knowledge than myself as to what is, so I would appreciate that you tell me please.
It is boring as **** right enough. You could have a million threads and no ones point of view would change. Thread change then. Anyone heading out tonight? I'm for my mates for a drink then maybe head to the local for a wee cheap lock in later. Near the end of the month and all that.
You seem to be misunderstanding what I'm saying. I said that the whole issue of sectarianism has been blown out of proportion and that MANY (note: not all) of the people singing sectarian songs and chants at games aren't Scottish. By implication that means that some of the people are Scottish. With the greatest of respect you don't live in Scotland so you maybe don't see that the issue is not on the news all that often and that the only reason it's had such increased coverage recently was because there was an election in May and Salmond wanted to get his face on the telly.
Whilst I agree with you it has been blown out of proportion a bit, I don't think both teams actions on the field helped matters........but it still stands that there is a problem that need to be monitored/removed.
Both teams? Celtic had three players booked. Rangers had three players SENT OFF. That seems to be your problem here. You think the problem is 50/50 between both clubs. It's not. If that was the case Celtic would have been fined by UEFA as many times as Rangers. But they haven't been fined once for sectarian singing. I'm not claiming for a second that Celtic don't have a problem with a section of their fans. Most clubs do. But you seem to want to lump Celtic in with Rangers as if they come as a BOGOF kind of deal. That simply isn't the case.
Wow whether you know it or not you are coming accross as a possible bigot with delusions of grandeur, which is not what I wanted but more so proves my point of people not knowing when or what they are doing is sectarian.
And Lennon the actions of him in previous season's not just last have helped matters......and the reason Celtic did'nt get the book thrown at them was they said they were singing about their proud Irish roots but that is all about to change and you were investigated and warned in 2009.
