SUNDERLAND are prepared to let Danny Graham leave in a cut-price £1million deal, as they accept a hefty loss on the striker.

Graham is due to report back to Sunderland for the start of pre-season training on Saturday after spending the whole of last season out on loan - first at Hull and then at his former club Middlesbrough.

But his return to Wearside is expected to be short-lived, with both the club and the player accepting that there is no prospect of a second opportunity with the Black Cats.

The Echo understands that Sunderland have put Graham up for sale with a £1m price tag - just 18 months after splashing out £5m to bring the striker to Wearside from Premier League rivals Swansea.

We'd struggle to get more but any deal should have some clauses that benefit us if he recaptures any sort of form. Goals/appearances = more cash for us.

Advertising a price is silly though as some **** nugget might have been ready to offer more.

We haven't exactly advertised the price - could be that the Echo has a leak somewhere in the club who has let something slip rather than the club "advertising" him

 

We could use the million and get a striker on a free from abroad with lower wages and sell on value. WIN, WIN!

What's the point if he won't take a pay cut. Just loan the ****er out without a fee until his contract is up that way we might have a chance of someone paying most of his wages. 5m write off well and truly. Just hope it's already written off in the books.

 

If we get any more than a bottle of Lambrini, a half ounce of baccy & a packet of Rizla we'll be doing well.
That said we managed to con £1.3m out of Celtic for that lazy fat **** Murphy so you never know.

His wages till his contract is up. He's said to be on around 40k a week and he has two years left so that be around 4 million to pay him off, every penny would line his pocket too. It would considerably dent our transfer budget. Much better off loaning him out contributing as little as possible to his wages. Nobody will pay him 40k a week and doubt he would leave for less money.

 

For me, getting a million for a steaming pile of ****e is great business in anyones book.

 

we just need to see the back of him. it was pure madeness from mon to sign him in the first place. everyone knew it was a mistake when it happened and we were all proved right. other then a couple of decent performances we never saw anything to siggest he was worth the money
