Yes but it doesn't have to be point scoring just a sensible discussion about it and I'm genuinely interested as next year I'm doing a diploma in football and it's roles in society one of which is The Old Firm and it's sectarian issues and I wanted to gather what people who support clubs outside the Old Firm made of it.
As far as I can see neither he nor I are engaging in tit for tat. The issue is a current (excuse the pun) one. Surely people can have a discussion on something without acting like children.
You're missing the point. People said they didn't want this stuff on GC. That's why Mick usually moves them to the Celtic/Rangers boards. It's okay when people like you are discussing it but when the likes of Girvan Loyal and BH join in you'll soon regret it, believe me. It's on the Celtic board right now if you want to discuss it.
Ok, if you want to have a sensible discussion about it, i suggest you first go and learn what sectarianism is. . Then maybe you will be better armed to ask pertinent questions to a wider audience. Going in blind ain't so smart.
But maybe they will prove their idiocy by point scoring etc......That's not what I'm trying to do and if that does happen then the thread should be closed or moved but I just wanted to gage what people thought without abuse or it's your fault etc.
However you dismissed this as Celtic not having an issue which is 100% incorrect.......we both do which is why th Goverment and Police are now trying to handle it like I said before it's now on the news in England which I haven't seen before, hence the seriousness of it.
I suppose everything is fair game on GC except what is probably the hottest social topic in Scotland right now.
It's hardly ever off the news. Belfasts problems were on Al Jazeera the other day. Maybe it is a pointless debate.
Therein lies the problem you see. How is sectarianism the hottest topic in Scotland right now? There was a bit of bluster after a recent Old Firm game and a bit of nonsense about the new legislation last week. The whole thing is way OTT. Sectarianism is NOT a problem in Scotland. It's confined to a small number of idiots, many of whom aren't even Scottish.
I already have and on the BBC News website 2 things they were looking to cut out with regards to sectarian chanting were 'The Billy Boys' and 'PIRA' songs sung by each side of the Old Firm.
Ah ok. Just as I thought. it is imperative that you find out what sectarianism is before you undertake any scholarly work on it.
I wouldn't trust everything you read on the BBC website. They have very little understanding of things that happen outside London: http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...-idiots-like-this-from-having-any-sort-of-say
Ok then Stephen Fry why don't you tell me what is Sectarian and what is not.......alas I have a feeling what you will say is or isn't.
