Enrique - Sakho - Agger - Richards Never mind on the pitch, at least the physio room wouldn't concede many goals.
See we've signed Kevin Stewart on a freebie for 2 years after he was released by Spurs. 20 year old cb who has captained their youth team. Guess one for the future and we'll loan him out this season or he'll be in under 21s
We dont want players who come to play with Suarez (or Gerrard). We want players who come to play for Liverpool.
Why did Spurs release him? That instantly makes him sound crap. W've also signed: Lawrence Vigouroux @LawrenceV93 Follow So happy to have joined @LFC, what a massive club, can't wait to start! Thanks everyone for the messages! #YNWA 4:02 PM - 2 Jul 2014
Operates mainly as a LB mate, very versatile though. To be honest I'm quite surprised at you lot signing him, I know Alex Inglethorpe joined your setup from us so maybe that has something to do with it(?) but if I'm honest, Stewart never really showed any signs of becoming a Prem player for the future from whenever I saw him play. Hopefully the move works out well for him as I always like seeing our academy lads succeed, whether that's with us or elsewhere but I just don't see Stewart ever having the required potential to play for a Prem side, hope I'm wrong. You also got Lawrence Vigouroux, though I understand he'd already been playing for you guys for a few weeks/ months anyway. He was somewhat of an early success story, I can't remember his exact scenario prior to joining us but it was either having failed in previous trials or had never been given one at all, he then attended one of our THFC Foundation's schools and it was from there he actually got signed by us. Hard to say whether he'll be any good as he wasn't really with us for too long but if I remember rightly he was one touted with good potential. We're producing a good crop of youngsters these days (finally!), some have managed to make international appearances in recent years - Livermore, Caulker, Townsend, Bentaleb - and we've got a few other potential gems (steer clear of Josh Onomah ), hopefully the two who've joined you turn out well
Yep. If we keep the rest and replace those 3 I'll be happy. Tadic seems to be a good player to replace Lallana and we've made a tidy profit.
I just cant see how we will replace Suarez. Studge breaks down too much, Ford goes off the boil. Sterling okay for 10 goals but still too weak. Lose Suarez and we lose our top drawer player. Sanchez wont willingly come to us. Have we sorted out LB? No! That was our most critical position and no progress. I can see Flanno filling that position next season. Just hope Ibe comes good and gets a chance.
If we look at it as replacing Suarez it will go wrong. We should just remove Suarez from the squad, pretend he was never there and think 'How can I improve this squad and who can I bring in to improve this squad'.
Yes I dont disagree but a phenomenal talent, 30 goals. £60-80 mil buys three good players but do we trust BR to get suitable quality? My view on Llanana is out but Aspas, Alberto, Moses and Cissoko makes you doubt. Two decent players signed so far. Ford and Studge but both are brittle and wont play all season. Lambert is a Carrolesque signing, cheapet, older but slighlty better but no replacement. Can, cant comment on. Now if we got a decent LB, Loveno, Shaquiri and Shanchez, I would be on the way to being confident of top 4 next season.
Moses and Cissokho were only loans so they are no longer at LFC. Alberto has left on loan. Lambert is a very good goal scorer, as is Lallana.
Precisely , we need to get better quality players who will score/ create more than our current squad. Shaqiri(hopefully) lallana and poss Sanchez will all score and create more than Allen,Henderson and Gerrard ( exc pens) and I know Gerrard did create quite a few last season. There are no 30+ goal scorers about except the usual 3 so it's about bringing the quality of the squad to a higher level. If we do sell Suarez for £80 million we may have to pay over the odds for one or two marquee signings. I know it's not our way but we may just have to. But as someone said earlier, if tighten up defensively it won't always be on the forwards to get us out of jail. I would like to see us sign one of Rodriguez/Rojos/Moreno . And a real leader at CB. Hopefully we might get rid of Johnson ,Coates and one or two, fringe players.
Forgot about lambert...there's 10-15 goals a season depending on how much he plays. Add in Borini too. We should never miss a penalty again with those 2 and stevie
Also, a team does not need a 30 goal a season striker to win the league. Sturridge's 21 goals were more than any of City's striker. They did have Toures 20 from midfield though. I think we need more goals from midfield more. Lallana scored 10 last season I believe. Good start. Can is a good runner and finisher.
I think Lambert is a useful buy and will generally be a capitol one cup, FA cup and a bit part player, but I will be greatly surprised if he scores double figures next season.
I reckon he will play loads. Mainly as a sub though. Lamberts pass and move play is brilliant for a striker. It will be very useful next season.
