I assume that something he did off his own bat, rather than the club sending him?

    Excellent.

Now if any of our Premier League rivals play a back 4 consisting of yellow sticks we're nailed on certainties.

Really, well done Some giving up your holiday to put this extra training in.

The scary thing, an American training a PL player how to be a better striker. Since you know we have such a wonderful history with strikers in the US.

    Marginal gains Chazz, marginal gains.

We won't be naysayers when he shimmies in the box and slams a last minute winner in during the Europa League final.

Thats great good to see. Don't understand why more (maybe they do) undertake something like this. We fans sometimes put a lot of it down to innate ability. However, as Malcom Gladwells book "The Outliers" eruditely points out, its really down to opportunity and hard work, have enough dough to get a piano and put 10,000 hours of practice in and you can become a concert pianist. Well Sone has the opportunity now all he needs to do it put the 10,000 hours of training in (suspect he is already on his way) and he can be the next Rodriquez at the world cup in Russia (assuming Nigeria qualify).

Most people if they saw the opportunity of taking their salary from big (say 30,000 a week that Sone is perhaps on) to the massive say 300,000 (is that what Rooney gets) would think nothing of investing some of their spare time and spare money to make that happen.

    Go for it SA.

If it takes 10,000 hours to be a genius, then is it possible to work out how many hours your Jozy Altidore has put in?

What is your point? That Altidore deserves ridicule because he is not a world class striker? I am sure the work the man has put in has benefited him and gotten him to where he is today. Dont suppose you wish you were playing in the PL? Perhaps you could have put in a few more hours of training yourself. If we are going to go after a US striker we could always ridicule Wayne Rooney for having one goal in 10 world cup games while Julian Green has one goal in 15 minuets of world cup play.
