Regarding a conversation with 2 Celtic fans on here who stated that the sectarian problems in Scotland were down to Rangers only. Now as a Rangers fan I believe it's a problem on both sides of the Old Firm which I find pathetic, but I was wondering what other members on this site made of the issue and if you felt anyone in particular was responsible on a side of the divide or is it a problem rooted deep on both sides in society?
Religious bigotry is certainly more prevelant on the Protestant/Rangers side. No doubt. Whereas anti Britishness is a problem within the Catholic/Celtic support. Here is two articles from a guy that I despise but he does have some good points to make. It's mainly to do with Northern Ireland but take from it what you may. http://www.independent.ie/opinion/c...y-that-is-fenianism-knows-no-end-2802300.html http://www.independent.ie/opinion/c...ira-violence-it-was-there-before-2803409.html It transends football. People who try and put it onto Celtic/Rangers are being lazy and ignorant.
I agree which is my point it needs to be driven out of the game fast but some people have difficulty in understanding in what they are doing can be construed as sectarian.....the rivalry will still be great without it.
Preston Give it a rest man. It's one thing discussing it on the Celtic and Rangers boards but GC should be a sectarian free zone.
Both clubs, whatever their words to the contrary, stoke it to line their pockets and the drones lap it up.
But Rape, peadophelia, cock size etc are fair game? If the guy wants to discuss it then he's free to do so.
Your first point, yes. Your second point, it took ages to attract new members to this site and one of the reasons was because of the tit-for-tat Celtic/Rangers sectarianism ****e. As I said, he's been discussing the subject for the past couple of hours on the Rangers post so there's no need for him to post it to GC as well.
