They can try and claim £8m - they won't get anywhere near that. He's out of contract, so they'll get compensated for the training and development of said player. Which is a bit of a joke because Liverpool should take most of that credit. Oyston must have been on the pop, he's claiming £8m on the basis that that is what Cardiff were prepared to pay. Forgetting of course that he was under contract then!!!
Was looking forward to signing Ince this morning now am not to sure.....fact Palace wouldnt play him sets of alarm bells as well
I don't see how they can dream about making £8m. If they wanted £8m they should have bloody well sold him when they had the offers last summer, but they refused. I've never heard of a tribunal fee top £1m, never mind multi millions. A tribunal fee is decided upon the costs of training the player whilst he was at the club, not what his transfer value would be with years left on his contract. It will be about 200k. They can't seriously expect to have a player, turn down offers to sell him, send him out on a 6 month loan for a ridiculous fee, then get an even more ridiculous sum once they've run his contract right down? They can't have their cake and eat it.
There was something happened behind the scenes there. Pulis was singing Toms praises and coming out in the media saying they absolutely plan on making him a permanent signing and will do everything to try and make it happen. Apparently Ince told Pulis he wouldn't be signing permanently at the end of the season so Pulis started leaving him out, I don't know how much truth there is in that, but that's what was said.
So if he is so level headed..y did LFC get rid?...y arent they prem clubs queing to sign him up?...even West Ham not tried to get in our way with this transfer!!...all seems a bit of a too smooth deal for me
You've gone off on a bit of a tangent there. Just to answer two of those points, Liverplop got rid as he was obviously not good enough for them at the time, and still isn't. If he'd remained there, he'd never be. It sounds like prem clubs are queuing to sign him up, it certainly doesn't come across as if were the only interested party. My post was merely stating that the reason he wasn't playing much at Palace wasn't because Pulis didn't rate him, he'd already praised him publicly and expressed his desire to tie him down to a permanent deal this summer. Something went on behind the scenes, there were rumours that ince told Pulis he wouldn't stay on after his loan finished and Pulis didn't like it so dropped him out of the first team.
Am not arguing your trust that weve pulled of a great transfer of a young, excellent footballer with the world at his feet for just some compo money...but we are Hull City..if it was a young Deano/Barmby moving to their hometown club in prem id accept..but cmon?...weve obv offered the most wages!
Im sure Bruce knows him more than most if not all the managers out there if his family get togethers with the Inces' . And on top of that i would think his dad and Tom would have been more candid when talking to a family friend like SB So the logic is that SB will know all about whats in Toms head over the last 18months than any twatter/journo/foruminator . His perceived attitude may not sit with us , as people who would play for city for nowt in any division - so we never have a good grasp on this sort of **** . Can't we lay off him until he is pictured hugging Rolf/smoking a turtle /denouncing Santa Claus
The delay with Tom Ince is not a surprise. He tells us what he thinks he is worth in wages and we look at the figures and start to talk about compensation. I cannot recall any player who has openly talked about a club that he is in talks with. Why would he say what he did in the interview, it would wind other clubs up if he praised us and tried to do a deal with them? He is a player who could develop and I do not consider his Dad to be anything like Frazier Campbell's Father. Paul Ince may not be everyone's cup of tea, but his footballing background cannot be denied. Its got to be better to be touted by your Father rather than by some corporate agent who is simply interested in the money. I would welcome Tom Ince at the club, he may lack experience, but if he develops, we could have a player, who delivers for us and increases in value and I would rather have that than some journeyman striker at the end of their playing career.
Prob more to do with the fact that Ince is not a 6ft plus heathen who is going to run around like a man possessed booting any player in an opposition shirt for 90 mins, simply didn't fit into TP's tactical masterplan
I thought it might be a covert sighting at Bob Carvers at lunch time, but it's just his updated Pope-mobile. Which is real, by the way.
I thought someone had said Dawson was supposed to be at the KC for talks today and yet no reported sightings or dodgy phone images?
I think it was mentioned that it was Friday he was at the KC for talks so as today is Wednesday it is unlikely the will be any sightings let alone doggy ones.
