Provisional talks also being held with Joe Murphy (ex-Scunthorpe keeper) as potential replacement for Scott Loach. Dyche is keen to keep Loach but has agreed that should a bid of £2million be received, they will accept. However, they will insist upon a substantial sell on clause, and ensure a replacement is set up before allowing any deal to complete. Should Andrew Taylor move away from Boro, a London based club is his/his partner's preference. Choice has always been between staying in Boro where he is very settled, and moving to Watford, with both clubs having offered very similar terms. When talk of Mackay's departure gathered pace he was set to stay with Boro, however this week it's all changed. Cardiff have proposed better terms than he'd previously been offered, but Watford have agreed to match this latest offer. Dyche is very keen to sign Taylor and the club believe signing Taylor would not only strengthen the team, but also make a statement of their intentions to back Dyche when a deal which they believe represents significant value is available. I did see on SSN that AT was talking to CC and BC!
Up to Baz to back Dyche! we will see if not there is Whiggins or Spurr, Would like Taylor though as he is a known quantity!
However any incomer has to stay within our pay structure and that could be a stumbling block! Taylor would be on a free ,but on higher wages Whiggins would cost us around £400K and lower wages! I think there is room for discussion though!
Yes a proven track record at Championship level, knows the set up and the lads in the Squad, against up and coming but we have been chasing him for a few months now. Interesting times if these rumours have any substance, but that won't stop us discussing what we would like to happen
Ooh Al, missed this one the other day! 22 Jun 2011 14:30:17 Dean Cox has pulled out of the O's trip to Vegas, to finalise his move to Cardiff on Friday for a fee of £300,000.He was Malky McKays top target and Watford, but now he's at Cardiff he'll be going there. --------------- So much for taking over at a club that were going to challange for the title! It'll be a relegation battle for us so... who are we going to get in to replace malky in January!!
