Over 8,000 QPR supporters complete New Stadium Survey launched in May ...

ONCE again, the club’s thanks go out to the 8,000-plus QPR supporters that completed the New Stadium Survey we ran in May.

The club has now been through all answers and comments from the survey which will be provided to the Club’s stadium architects as the club develops initial design concepts for the proposed new stadium at Old Oak Common.

A few key findings from the survey were as follows:
An overwhelming majority of fans were in favour of the club’s plans to build a new stadium at Old Oak Common
As expected there is a strong desire to capture the essence of Loftus Road and make sure that the new stadium takes on as much as possible of the features which makes Loftus Road a memorable home
85% of respondents favoured a capacity of between 30-40,000 for the new stadium, with 35,000 being the most popular option
62% of respondents would prefer the new stadium to have a rectangular shape, which was more than double the number of respondents (30%) who would prefer the new stadium to be oval
56% of respondents want to see two tiered stands behind each goal at the new stadium and over 67% of respondents want the stands to be steep with the preservation of Loftus Road’s atmosphere and proximity to the pitch being the key driver
A large number of fans expressed the importance of stadium acoustics in generating a good atmosphere
As well as completing the multiple-choice answers, many supporters chose to offer their own ideas of how to create a stadium QPR can be proud of and we’re really grateful for all of them.

The stadium and wider regeneration at Old Oak is a complex project and there will undoubtedly be many issues along the process, but everyone involved is working hard with the relevant authorities to move the plans forward. We continue to make good progress and have the support of the authorities to delivering a stadium led regeneration.

We will keep supporters involved and will continue with consultations about the new stadium’s design in due course.

Finally, our congratulations go to Season Ticket Holder Mark Ryan who was picked at random out of all supporters that completed the New Stadium Survey to win a 2014/15 Nike home shirt. Your shirt will be on it's way soon before they're available to buy at the QPR Superstore on Saturday 19th July.

Thank you for your continued support.

Even more interesting now that Car Giant are reluctant to shift.

Good to get this stuff on record even if it is a little premature.

No real surprises in the findings, but 8,000 responses is quite impressive.

Seems a bit harsh to send that poor season ticket holder a new home shirt...he only offered his opinions!

Whoever reckons 35,000 is enough certainly lacks ambition and reality...we will fill 40,000 with eyes closed and 30 min train rides from the midlands on doorstep

I get the feeling they asked questions they already knew the answers too.
But I was shocked so many people voted for a bowl.

I think they've ditched the idea of a roof too. Also, I'm glad 35k was the winner. People voting for 25k haven't a clue and it would be a total waste of money. 35-40k is great.

Is isn't that the lawyers and salesperson trick - never ask a question if you don't know what the answer is going to be!
