If I were Ayre the meeting would last 5mins...
Ayre: Hola... Luis Suarez buy out Clause is £80m (I assume), will accept that or £45m+Sanchez
Barca: Shut up you little man, we pay less, and give you Tello on loan!
    Ayre: [leaves room]

We hold the cards, all of them, pay up or <insert expletive here> off!

But John Henry gave two reasons for not accepting the bid last year.

    1) not enough

    2) too late for us to buy anyone worth replacing him with.

So Barca can mealy mouth but do it quick, offer their final bid because too long and even if it's enough it might be too late.

Unless they meet the buy out clause in which case than can do it as late as they like!! In the Arsenal case it wasn't a buy out clause per se but I think it is now hence Suarez signing a new deal last year.

I actually think Sanchez could light up the prem, he's just slightly older than suarez was when we signed him. But he won't be Suarez' level. I guess it comes down to how well BR re-invests the money, £20million on Bertrand/lovren will not be a good start

I totally agree. For me Sanchez is a world class player, maybe not quite to the level of Suarez. But if we get around 40-50mil plus Sanchez then thats a result in my eyes.

We'll have enough attacking options then, so we we'll be able to concentrate on our defence. Personally I don't want Bertrand, we can do much better than that. I say splash the cash and get Rodriguez as a LB (if not Moreneo (sp?). Then buy one top quality CB. And if we've still got any funds take a risk on a 10 mil RB (no idea who though!).

If we end up losing Suarez and addding Sanchez and Rodriguez then it's debatable that we've actually improved our squad. We can live without Suarez, we have plenty up top that can do the job. Sturridge, Sterling, Coutinho, (Sanchez?, Lallana, Lambert, Ibe (if given the chance) - Have I missed anyone!?!. All these players can attack, with pace (maybe with the exception of Lambert), are good on the ball - and all have the ability to play quality counter attacking football.

Yeah in an Ideal world we'll sell Suarez and uncover a new gem of a striker, but that's unlikely - and strikers that are top calibre cost a fortune these days.

We'll see - but Suarez or not, our squad and first 11 will be better this coming season than last, that I'm convinced of.

It is true. Ask Gonzo. I phoned him last night after my mate called, but told him to keep it off the forum as it was still very sensitive info at the time. We're signing Origi. Looks **** hot <ok>

100% agree but only ON PAPER at this stage. I just hope that translates to performances and BR gets them to gel in preseason

in the end we will never see SAS again. therefore we need to understand what that means and how we cover the inevitable injuries to sturridge and how we deliver him chances.

Suarez coudl win a game on his own. take that out and that 10-15 points gone. how to get that back? simple. much better defense, much better midfield. If we do that we can substitute in a lesser light who will be effective in their own way and so move on.

BUt coutinho is THE guy imo. if he cannot step it up to more consistency and deliver on his ability in temrs of creating and being a central influence I don't see another player we have doing it.

Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants Bosnia-Hercegovina defender Dejan Lovren, 24, to become the third Southampton player to move to Anfield this summer after capturing Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana. Times (subscription only)

From the BBC page. Spot the mistake.

pace always lights up the prem. sanchez will do well at arsenal <laugh>

50mil + sanchez is a huge deal IMO. However i am fully sure that 80mil is possible if the ban is dropped.. its just a matter of how you make the 80mil up... 40mil for sanchez and 40mil for pedro would be barca's idea <laugh>

Also need to keep in mind that if Suarez commits another bite in La Liga, they will give him a couple of months max, if he does it in the PL I could see the FA dishing out a season long ban.

50 points to you, sir. It's a good job he hasn't played for the national team recently to give them a clue... <whistle>

TBF it's hard to follow international games. Croatia rarely have any high profile opponents and usually multiple international matches are happening at the same time.

Not sure why it's sensitive info if it's been reported as a rumour already in the press? Anyway, he looks a decent prospect, has pace and power and looks composed on the ball. Need to work on his finishing, though.

It was sensitive last night because the ****ing papers hadn't been printed <doh> I told Gonzo the meeting in London had been set up. Origi will be signed and loaned back to Lille, but he has ****ing huge potential, as could be seen last night.
