Wouldn't bother me, he's a good manager, and unlike Woy, good at international level with big nations.

Think the German contingent did real well for us throughout the tournament, Jones, Johnson, Brooks add Green to that although he only played a bit part but scored a goal. Think Yedlin performed real well. Should have a better squad next world cup with those Germans and the youngsters getting 4 more years of experience. By then hopefully Johansson will be up to the task of playing off Altidore. Its looking good for the future of the USMNT.

Your team played excellently, that has to have been game of the tournament. You've lost narrowly to a decent Belgian side and pushed them every inch of the way.

No. Not that we wouldnt show support for a good performance but we have a hard enough time caring about the sport in general. No chance that we would actually cheer or get excited about another countries national team. Although Mexico would get a lot of support, so check that, only Mexico.

Unless we get someone like him who can hold up the ball it will be him next time around to. We really missed him this tournament, Depsey just can not hold the ball up like Altidore can. Altidore really is the only one who we have right now that can play that role.

    Yep.

Looks like he's off to Tower for an hour. Stuck in the late 80's the poor sod.

    Bit like Chazz.

I read a piece in the paper the other day that right wing Americans condemn football as it's unpatriotic to follow a sport that wasn't invented in America. It was mostly about some female politician gobbing off a complete load of uninformed nonsense about how cushty, friendly and uncompetitive the sport is.

    Here it is http://www.theguardian.com/commenti...erica-ann-coulter-football-socialism-team-usa

"In soccer," she laments, "there are no heroes, no losers, no accountability, and no child's fragile self-esteem is bruised."

Yea it was a good showing.

On another note. It has been leaked that the reason that Donovan wasnt picked was because Klinsmann had to give his word to Green that if Green committed to the USMNT he would get a spot in the 23 going to the world cup. If Klinsmann didnt agree to it then Green was going to wait and commit to the German national team and be available to Germany for the next world cup. Germany wanted him but was unwilling to pick him for their 23 this WC.

Yea Ann Coulter. She is a nut job, but millions and millions listen to her. Here is the link if you want to read her piece.

    http://www.anncoulter.com/

You have to remember that even when I was a kid it was a death sentence for your social life to play soccer. It was considered a girls sport, a communist sport, etc. My high school didnt even have a mens soccer team only a girls one. After we hosted the WC opinions changed but some people still view it as that.

She also once said on national TV that women should not be allowed to vote unless they were married. She wanted us to take back their right to vote. Her reasoning was that only a husband can tell a women to vote properly as a women is unable to make such an important decision by herself. In case you are wondering she isnt married herself. She is just a straight up loon.

She is one of the main right wing conservatives (tea party folk). It isnt like people really listen to her, but people like her drive the republicans farther to the right. So even though she says straight up crazy ****, she still gets air time and still has significant influence.
