We have to go for 3 keepers, signing 2 doesn't open up another spot for an outfield player. Don't even joke about aj coming back!
I can't believe we'd give AJ another contract. His pitch to sickbed ratio is so bad, I'd rather just give some of his salary straight to BUPA
Having had a look at the released list, I make that a maximum of 16 if the out of contract players all sign. So that's a minimum of 9 signings, more if SWP doesn't make the 25 or any of Zamora, oneil , Traore, Faurlin and green don't sign. Going with 4-5 signings is now an impossibility unless half the squad is going to be the youth team,
Don't think you can add up Flyer. I 'm probably not spot on either but from Matt's OP list I count 25 players, having deleted the players released official, and Jenas who won't be available short term at least. See no need for more than about 5 new ones if we can keep most of these. Keeping all and bringing in 5 good players, will leave 5 of these out of the 25. Matt Phillips - 2017 Loïc Rémy - 2017 Adel Taarabt - 2016 Danny Simpson - 2016 Charlie Austin - 2016 Yun Suk-Young - 2016 Nedum Onuoha - 2016 Júlio César - 2016 Junior Hoilett - 2016 Samba Diakité - 2016 Esteban Granero - 2016 Clint Hill*(captain) - 2015 Joey Barton - 2015 Karl Henry - 2015 Brian Murphy - 2015 Michael Harriman - 2015 - Youth team product - won't play Max Ehmer - 2015 - Youth team product - won't play Frankie Sutherland - 2015 - Youth team product - won't play Alejandro FaurlÃn - 2015 Robert Green - Expired Armand Traoré - Expired Shaun Wright-Phillips Bobby Zamora - Expired Gary O'Neil - Expired Richard Dunne
Remy, Cesar, diakite, granero, taarabt will be gone plus 3 youth players who dont have to be named. My counting is fine. 11 who are staying have contracts, 17 if everyone who's in negotiations signs. That's between 8 and 14 signings. I don't think Murphy has a contract and SWP might not make the 25.
Your counting includes your speculation then mate. In addition to the above 25 there are 2 to 4 loans returning to their Clubs who could be back - Krancjar, Ravel, Carroll and Doyle possibly. TF says about 5 new players - perhaps "about" could only be 3, or as many as 7, but if he lets many more than that come in who's going to believe much of what he says again, especially having signed off Twitter with that message!
He said something along the lines of we have learnt, that could mean not signing a load of old players. We won't get the loan players back either. They were **** to mediocre.
He was OK but not right in the head. Certainly not worth what they'd ask for him. Kranky was mediocre.
In the coming season, we need fighters. Ravel is not a fighter. That is all we need to consider. In the playoffs we needed him to fight but instead he didn't and was a liability and could have cost us. I'm not interested in him, quite frankly.
So just a means to an end with promotion? In the playoffs he was noticeably used sparingly by Harry, but in my opinion we still have a need for that type of "flair" player in our squad, who possess special skills (some might say special needs) to make something happen out of nothing, as provider or goal scorer.
He didn't look that special in the champ, contrast that with taarabt who dominated games. If he can't do it against Barnsley and Ipswich, he sure won't do it against PL teams.
Along with the rest of the team - he was outstanding in other games though, and after signing he hit the ground running, scoring some very important goals to keep us in the promotion mix.
It was his debut, so I'd forgive him for that game, as there were plenty of other players that could of done better. He's definitely not right in the head though. He was in a photo on Twatter the other day with his 'homies' wearing a Chelsea shirt.
Oh dear! Ravel in Chelsea top claims please log in to view this image Ravel Morrison is at the centre of a mini Twitter controversy this afternoon (Sat) when a picture of him wearing what appeared to be a Chelsea leisure top emerged on the social network. It had first been allegedly posted on the midfielderâs Instagram account amid claims heâs been given it by former Hammer Frank Lampard. Some fans recalled the Paul Ince controversy of years ago when the Irons midfielder posed in a Manchester United shirt ahead of his move to the club. One said: OH. MY. GOD Ravel Morrison is wearing a casual Chelsea top in a picture. Sell him immediately. Another declared: âWhat the hell is ravel Morrison doing wearing a Chelsea shirt.â However another said: âI donât think heâd be stupid enough to wear a Chelsea top and post it on instagramâ and another concluded firmly âRavel Morrison is not wearing a Chelsea training top in the picture.â http://www.claretandhugh.info/ravel-in-chelsea-top-controversy/
