People would have asked similar questions had we signed J Rod this season too, and look how he has turned out. I suppose like J Rod he may need a season to settle down though. I'd be very happy with Ings.

Ings is a better finisher then Rodriguez.

I know who I'd prefer to be starting out of Ings and Pelle......

Not trying to sound ultra negative but are people saying that Rodriguez's big improvements were from him just taking a bit of time to settle into the Premiership, rather than being played in Pochetinno's system which played to his strengths and suited him down to a tee?

Have a feeling that he would be one of those players that others have alluded to who we may have looked better than he really is thanks to the high press.

On a related note does Koeman favour this system or will we be likely changing style?

Oh christ. You're the polar opposite of RLGB. He has something against foreign players and you have something about English players. Ings is miles better than Pelle.

He's 29 in 2 weeks, seems to basically be an Allardyce-style big lump and has only ever had 2 good goal-scoring seasons, both of which were in the Dutch league where the defending is notoriously poor.

Yeah, the system suited JRod, but he's a good player regardless. Has pace to burn, good technique, great work rate, intelligent runs behind the lines..he'll come good in another system, I'm sure of it.

Not to mention that his general play is poor, and feeds on ****ty defending rather than creating his own space or anything.

    But does he score goals?

Not trying to defend or argue, just no nothing about him.

Yes, but goals more like Altidore and Afonso Alves than Suarez or Bony.

Yeah yeah, you have to say that <laugh>

But in all seriousness, if we think about how far J Rod has come, and with Ings being a better finisher already, then we could really end up with quite the player on our hands. The fact that he is a Saints fan too just makes it all the better.

The inept mugs on the board will not have the clout or the interest to properly invest the cash anyway. To see the team being broken apart like this breaks my ****ing heart, I didn't know the lads were such a bunch of mercenaries and they seemed happy here last year. That Libherr tramp is the problem, only looking for a return on her investment. Everton and Swansea have shown that you can tell these teams to **** off so why don't we ? because of the asset strippers at the top, no vision, no ambition. For example we have sold 3 of our best players from last year already and not a hint of a new signing for us yet. This shower of twats are as bad as Lowe and Koeman will probably **** off when he realises the shower of **** he has gotten himself into.

Yes Dan I have seen him play. Fits the Lambert mould quite well.. doesn't have the passing range of Lambert although his touch is probably better and he's better in the air.
I prefer Pelle to Ings, sorry. Would like them both to join just not £10m for Ings. £6m or £7m will be good.

He scored goals in the Dutch league. Prior to the past two seasons, his career league goalscoring record was 35 goals in 184 games.
